Prescott High school came out on top besting Bradshaw Mountain by a score of 59 to 51. Northern Arizona’s two brightest stars( Uriah Tenette Uriah Tenette 5'10" | PG Prescott | 2025 State AZ and Mason Hunt Mason Hunt 6'5" | SG Bradshaw Mountain | 2024 State AZ ) shined as always but it was the supporting casts that really impacted the game.
Uriah Tenette Uriah Tenette 5'10" | PG Prescott | 2025 State AZ led Prescott in scoring (again) with over 24 points (by my count). His distance shooting was on display in the first half draining key three pointers from well past the high school line. His key “and one” in the second half sealed the game for Prescott. Uriah spent more time than normal playing off the ball, mostly due to Mason Hunt Mason Hunt 6'5" | SG Bradshaw Mountain | 2024 State AZ ‘s defense. It is a testament to Uriah’s skill and talent that being held to 24 points seems like a great accomplishment.
Cooper Magnett, a 6’1 Junior shooting guard played a critical role in the game. His outside shooting, defense, and attitude were all on display Thursday night. Cooper tallied 13 points on the night scoring from distance and at the rim. He possesses exceptional quickness and is a tenacious defender. He also plays better when the stakes are higher. Cooper suffered a couple of injuries early in the season and it is good to see his game rounding into form as the playoffs approach. His ability to drain the three-ball and hit 8 foot runners on the baseline will be very helpful as teams continue to focus their energy on stopping Uriah Tenette Uriah Tenette 5'10" | PG Prescott | 2025 State AZ .
Andrew Lyon Andrew Lyon 6'0" | SG Prescott | 2024 AZ , a 6’0 senior shooting guard had the most impactful 8 points I have seen in a long time. He drained back to back three pointers in the second half to stem the Bradshaw momentum and made a nice runner later in the half. Andrew’s three point shooting will be critical in helping Prescott space the floor and prevent teams from being able to double team Uriah Tenette Uriah Tenette 5'10" | PG Prescott | 2025 State AZ .
Bradshaw Mountain was led by senior Mason Hunt Mason Hunt 6'5" | SG Bradshaw Mountain | 2024 State AZ . Mason played an exceptional night on both sides of the ball. Tasked with defending the shifty Uriah Tenette Uriah Tenette 5'10" | PG Prescott | 2025 State AZ , Mason still had the energy to score 27 points. His turn around jump shot is unstoppable, and he shoots the three consistently as well. Mason is a big game player and he showed that against Prescott.
Preston Ranniker Preston Ranniker 6'2" | SG Bradshaw Mountain | 2025 State AZ and his brother Cameron Ranniker both played well in a losing effort. Preston had 8 points and his brother Cameron had 6 points. Preston has been scoring more lately and playing with a lot more confidence. Cameron, a sophomore shooting guard who led the Bradshaw JV team to an overtime victory earlier in the night, played the best I have seen all season. The brothers will definitely help Bradshaw in their quest to make another run in high school playoffs.
Freshman guard Michael Crawford started for Bradshaw and dazzled the crowd with his passing and ball handling. The future is bright for this 5’8 Point Guard.
