These student-athletes have lit it up in the scoring column this season and deserve the proper recognition. This list of high-scoring prospects is just a few of the many talented young athletes who are making waves on the court.
2023 stats: 19.0 PPG – 3.9 rebounds – 3.7 assists Haven’t got to watch Darner play live since the last season and this kid is really starting to grow into his frame. I’ve mentioned this now a few times, but Darner is the top sharpshooter in Polk County who has truly found his game in his junior season. I knew of his potential upside but to watch it on display this season has been truly impressive. He’s a lights-out shooter as many know but it’s the slept-on winning spirit and leadership mentality that may not show up on film. Watch out for Darner to continue developing and get the attention of college coaches.
2023 stats: 22.9 PPG – 4.7 assists – 3.6 rebounds – 2.3 stealsAnother rising guard for the Crusaders who can be effective with good ball handling and tough finishes around the rim. Has seen his recruitment take off this offseason as he has really impressed with his scoring output this season.
2023 stats: 27.4 PPG – 7.6 rebounds – 2.1 assistsThe Dominican playmaker is one of the more underrated prospects in the South Florida region playing with NSU University a season ago. Rosario is now with Florida Christian School and is making his case as a productive junior prospect with more in-game film, but is set for an important junior season. Just check the film, he can run the floor, shoot well from mid or three-range, and has a good motor on the defensive side. He’s helped Florida Christian to a 3-1 start while putting up some good numbers.
2023 stats: 24.1 PPG – 8.3 rebounds – 3.0 assists – 3.1 steals The Hornets have only went 12-4 this season but no losses on their home court with two matchups remaining. For the second consecutive season, Hawthorne is led by dual-sport junior CJ Ingram who has set the tone to start the year, averaging nearly 25.0 points per game. It’ll be crucial for Ingram to keep up that output if the Hornets want to get back into the state championship mix.
2023 stats: 20.5 PPG – 6.6 rebounds – 2.8 assists – 2.4 stealsA skilled and physical prospect that can dominate opposing defenders in the interior and rack up points in the scoring column. This kid can also explode and be violent at the rim with ferocious finishes. On the defensive end, he uses that athleticism to deter shots as a blocking component and paint beast. His recruitment has potential to take off.
2023 stats: 22.5 PPG – 3.1 rebounds – 4.4 assists One of the highest scoring output recruits on the list is Livingston Jr. who lit it up during the offseason AAU period. He’s taken that confidence and scoring ability into the regular season for the Spartans who are 5-0 to start the season. College coaches look out for the junior to continue making noise this season with his scoring ability. Still has time to grow into his body but his speed, athletic ability, and DOG mentality has taken him to new heights this junior year.
2023 stats: 19.8 PPG – 5.0 rebounds Nixon is one of the more underrated 2025 prospects not just in Polk but the entire state. He jumps out the gym when watching his film while using his 6’5 frame to dominate smaller guards and flash his smooth knock down jump shot. Nixon is a potential wing/guard at the next level that will be a true scoring threat as he continues to develop. He currently holds an offer from Edward Waters but will keep an eye on his recruitment moving forward.
Highlights
2023 stats: 13.3 PPG – 5.7 rebounds – 1.8 stealsOne of the real deal upside products on the list is Cameron Bryant who stands at 6’5 with a polished wing game for the next level. He’s a riser playing for Timber Creek where he led the team statistically in points, rebounds, and steals in his sophomore season. Bryant has the potential to fulfill multiple duties as he can handle the rock, shoot well from three, and score around the rim. It’s the added defensive element that solidifies Bryant as a true riser that should surely see an uptick in offers this season.
