This is a great time for me to watch some NWO/Toledo basketball and see some of the top teams and players but the best part for me is seeing the players I did not know. I am back down in Columbus for the rest of the regular season, so this article will talk about the New Names I saw in the Toledo area – Part 2.
Peters was a player I was very impressed with when I got to watch him live for the first time while I was back in Toledo. This kid can HOOP. He is a very good senior point guard who can play at the next level. He is listed at 6’3 and has some great size and length. Peters is a sniper too. Catch-n-shoot is very smooth. His shot is quick and smooth. When he gets it with his feet set, it’s nothing but net. He makes good plays with the ball as well. I think at the next level he will be a point guard but he can also play off the ball very well. He has a good basketball IQ and doesn’t force anything. He can score around the rim as well. Peters is a really good player.
Highlights
Anthony Redding
Anthony Redding
Redding is someone I am going to buy a lot of stock in. Sandusky always produces good talent and I think Redding will be the next player after Henlon to be a slept-on prospect. Redding is a 6’5 sophomore who starts for a very good and deep Blue Streak team. He is a tall and long forward who can play the wing. He plays the game hard and is a good defender. He is a nice rim protector. This kid can also shoot it! He has a very nice form and if left open from beyond the arc, he is knocked down.

Simpson isn’t going to wow you when you walk in the gym but this Freshman gets it. He plays the game the right way. He plays the game very fundamentally sound and makes the right play. He is a point guard that sits behind a senior point guard but you can tell he comes in with the same maturity level. He never forces and knows when to attack. He can do a little of it all. He is a good finisher. He isn’t the biggest but he has a good build and absorbs contact well, this helps him around the rim and attack the rim. He’s got a good shot as well. I watched Lima play against Whitmer and he put up 14 efficient points, showing he can score against some of the best too.
Demetrick Patterson
Demetrick Patterson
Patterson shocked me with his play in the game I watched Rogers play. He scored a game-high 24 points and got almost all of it at the rim. He is a very good slasher who can get to the rim whenever he wants. He isn’t the tallest but he has a great build and is super strong. This allows him to dictate contact and get the ball to the rim. He is a really good athlete that can finish above and through defenders. He impressed me and is someone that can hoop.
