The point guard at Northfield Mount Hermon has had a terrific start to his junior season and has leaped all the way into the Top 50 of our rankings.
Here are 5 more prospects of note; all of whom have risen at least 10 spots in our most recent rankings!
Previous Rank: 24 (+13)rnChaudhri is a big wing that stands out due to his versatility on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he excels as a cutter, showing good touch around the rim and an ability to finish through contact. He’s shown that he can score at all three levels and has been really productive this season from behind the arc. Defensively, he uses his length to be disruptive on the perimeter and in the post, proving to be versatile enough to guard any position on the court. He’s a nationally ranked recruit that should have a long list of suitors by the end of the summer.
Previous Rank: 31 (+18)rnAltman has followed up a strong AAU season with a terrific start to the high school season. He’s taking his game to the next level by proving to be a three level scorer that can get it done both in transition and in the half-court. He shoots the cover off the ball from deep; but has really come a long way with his playmaking skills off the bounce. Defensively, he uses his length and athleticism to be disruptive in passing lanes and proven to be a strong rebounder from the guard position. He should be a priority for high academic schools and has the potential to garner mid-major interest with another strong grassroots season.
Previous Rank: 39 (+12)rnO’Sullivan stands out as one of the class’s best floor spacing big men. The lefty has enough size to make an impact in the post, but really impacts the game with his ability to stretch the defense and make shots from the perimeter. He has soft touch as a finisher in the post and is a capable passer out of double teams. On the defensive end of the floor, he’s able to move his feet when he has to make switches in ball screen action and even flashes as a rim protector. He’s already gaining interest from high academic high majors and should be on the radar of even more after this season.
Previous Rank: 106 (+10)rnCaruso has followed up a strong sophomore season with a terrific start to his junior year. One of the NHIAA’s top scorers, he’s a natural scoring guard that has taken his game to another level as he’s gotten stronger and improved his athleticism. Known as a strong perimeter shooter, he’s proven capable of scoring from all three levels this year and impressed getting to the rim off the bounce. He’s naturally competitive and defensively, does a good job of guarding on the perimeter and rebounding for his position. With a strong grassroots season, he should interest from a high number of regional D3’s.
Previous Rank: 130 (+30)rnBianco has stood out this season as someone who just continues to make winning play after winning play. A true lead guard, he’s as competitive of a prospect as there is in the class and repeatedly makes the little plays that lead to winning. He has good floor vision and does a great job of finding his teammates in scoring positions. He’s also proven capable of getting his own baskets when needed. Defensively, he’s a pest on the ball and does a good job of keeping opposing guards out of the paint. It’ll be fun to follow his progress this spring and summer and to see how high he can push his recruitment.
