Caruso, a do-it-all guard at New Hampshire’s Nashua South, averaged an impressive 27.5 PPG during his junior season. Recognized earlier this month as a Summer Standout, Caruso has a chance to lead all of New Hampshire in scoring this winter after flying relatively under-the-radar last winter while a few of the state’s seniors took center stage. With in-the-gym range, he’s a threat to score as soon as he crosses midcourt. He’s done a good job of adding strength and rounding out his skillset and now shines as a scorer with or without the basketball. He does a great job of utilizing screens, can get to his spots in the mid-range off the bounce, and has started to finish through contact at the rim. He’s capable of going for 30+ any night and has a chance to lead Nashua South on a deep playoff run this winter.

Arguably the top public school scorer in New England, Caruso shined all summer long with the New England Storm. Another prospect with in-the-gym range, Caruso has gone from an elite shooter to an elite scorer. Make no mistake though, he’s as good as it gets from behind the arc. He does a nice job of elevating into his jumper, is a relentless mover without the basketball, and does a great job of quickly getting his feet set on the catch. He’s a great shooter off the bounce, particularly when he can get into his pull-up game. Additionally, he played more with the ball in his hands this summer and showed the ability to be a reliable secondary ball-handler. Defensively, he has good positional size, covers ground quickly, and makes heady plays on that end of the floor. He has scholarship potential and should have plenty of Division II’s intrigued by the new year.

Joshua Caruso Joshua Caruso 6'2" | SG Nashua South | 2025 State New E is an absolute flamethrower from beyond the arch. He can shoot from anywhere, anytime, with lots of gusto to boot. Caruso’s confidence in taking deep three balls is outstanding, and no shot seems too far-fetched for him. He can pull up off the dribble and shoot without his feet set off the catch while being guarded. Nothing seems to matter, as the ball always goes in. Caruso can also score in transition, leaking out and getting easy buckets with a soft touch around the basket. On defense, he is pesky and loves to steal passes off the ball. The shooting display that Caruso puts on every time out is a sight to behold and programs needing a three-ball threat should turn his way.

Previous Rank: 106 (+10)rnCaruso has followed up a strong sophomore season with a terrific start to his junior year. One of the NHIAA’s top scorers, he’s a natural scoring guard that has taken his game to another level as he’s gotten stronger and improved his athleticism. Known as a strong perimeter shooter, he’s proven capable of scoring from all three levels this year and impressed getting to the rim off the bounce. He’s naturally competitive and defensively, does a good job of guarding on the perimeter and rebounding for his position. With a strong grassroots season, he should interest from a high number of regional D3’s.

Maybe the best junior in the state of New Hampshire, Caruso is another scoring guard that really popped this spring and summer with his AAU team (New England Storm). He’s coming off a year in which he was the only Sophomore in either Division I or II to garner all-state honors and has established himself as not only one of the better scorers in his class, but one of the best shooters in the region regardless of class. He has good size at the guard position and showed that he can play off the bounce more this summer. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him challenge Soden for the state’s scoring title this winter.
