Karavanic played for NE Storm’s second team this weekend, and it payed dividends for him. With increased opportunities offensively, he showcased a wide array of skills, like the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter while also using crafty footwork to figure out ways to finish under the rim against bigger players. He consistently used his strength and size to dominate the glass against Magic’s HGSL team, and it led to a very impressive win. Karavanic could still get a little bit more comfortable handling the ball on the perimeter, but he strikes me as an excellent D3 fit once the time comes.

Karavanic impressed me with his ability to use footwork in the post and finish around smaller defenders. He has good hands in the paint and a knack for throwing it up softly on the glass. I also appreciate his understanding of extra passing and ball movement; he was consistently looking to make the extra pass and didn’t hold the ball for too long on the perimeter. He plays good defense at the rim and has nice discipline when it comes to not fouling out of control shooters — and once he gets the board, he’s able to handle it and find a guard. Karavanic should have a really nice junior season at Nashua South.

Karavanic, a versatile, floor spacing big man, burst onto the scene this winter at Nashua South. A true stretch forward, Karavanic is a talented offensive prospect that has already has the ability to impact the game in the paint and on the perimeter. He’s comfortable making decisions with the ball in his hands on the perimeter, is quick to pass it if he doesn’t have a shot, and does a good job of leveraging his shooting to keep the defense off balance. He’s a smart cutter, has good hands, and can finish on the move at the rim with either hand. Defensively, he can guard on the wing or in the post, does a good job of walling up against bigger opponents, and has potential as a defensive rebounder who can initiate offense in transition. He already has an impressive skillset and will be a fun prospect to follow over the next few years as he tries to play his way to the scholarship level.

Daniel Karavanic Daniel Karavanic 6'6" | PF Nashua South | 2027 State New E is a tough and gritty forward who always gives one hundred percent on both ends. In the paint, he is an aggressive blocker and has great timing on his deflections. Karavanic is a hound on the boards, bringing down offensive and defensive rebounds through sheer effort and want. He will body up opponents and will put his arms up in a stance. On the offensive end, Karavanic can create his own shot in the post by using the mid-range to his advantage with fadeaways. He can also stretch the floor and knock down perimeter shots to boot. Karavanic’s defensive intensity and hustle stand out with flying colors and should be a huge breakout candidate in the coming years.
