Well, it’s because he’s the new #1 prospect in New England. The Cincinnati commit has had a terrific start to his senior season, as have the following 11 prospects; all of whom have risen at least 10 spots in our most recent rankings!
Previous Rank: 69 (+62)
One of New England’s top scorers, Guerengomba shot all the way into the Top 10 of our most recent rankings. Committed to UMass Amherst, Guerengomba is volume scorer that has in the gym range. He’s had multiple 30-point games already this year and when he gets it going from behind the arc, he’s almost unstoppable as a scorer. Defensively, he’s so strong and physical that it’s hard for opposing guards to do much against him, especially when his motor is running high and he’s really competing on that end of the floor.
Previous Rank: 42 (+32)
Arguably the best playmaker in New England, Toews does all the little things that a coach looks for out of his point guard. A Boston College commit, Toews plays with great pace and controls the flow of the game. He’s really good making reads out of ball screens, knows when to pick his spots as a scorer, and has incredible floor vision. His IQ is his best asset defensively as he always in the right spot and seems to make reads one play ahead of everyone else. His rise up the rankings is no surpise as he had a terrific spring and summer for the Middlesex Magic before continuing to do the same at The Newman School this fall.

Cox’s rise has been well chronicled in New England over the last 12 months. A combo-guard committed to Purdue, Cox is as competitive as they come and has really taken his game to new levels as a ball-handler and offensive initiator recently. He’s able to get to his spots offensively and might have the best mid-range pull-up game in New England. Defensively, he’s done a good job getting to a spot where he can keep opposing guards in front of him on the perimeter and has even show a willingness to mix it up in the paint for rebounds. His IQ and commitment to playing winning basketball stand out and are just as much a part of his rise in the rankings as anything else.
Previous Rank: 95 (+73)
No one in this rankings update rose as many spots as Wallace did! The scoring guard, headed to Iona next fall, has really left his mark in New England this season. A throwback scoring guard who likes to get into the mid-range, Wallace has great positional size and length, which allows him to get his shot off over most defenders. He’s really improved as a three-point shooter and as that has developed, so has his impact as a slasher/rim-scorer. Defensively, he utilizes his length to be disruptive in passing lanes while also making an impact on the glass.
Previous Rank: 90 (+41)
An explosive, above the rim athlete, Mucius’ game has rounded into form the last few months and his skill is starting to match his athleticism. A physically gifted wing, Mucius has expanded his offensive game and even shows sign of being a reliable three-point shooter and playmaker. Defensively, he has good insticts off the ball and can quickly turn defense into highlight reel offense in the open floor. He’s a phyiscal rebounder and profiles as someone who could be a defensive stopper at the next level. His progression over the last few months has been impress and there’s reason to believe he still has another jump to make.
Previous Rank: 93 (+39)
Lindsey made a nice rise up the rankings as the lead guard has done nothing but win over the last few months. A two-sport start who was phenomenal on the gridiron this fall, Lindsey is as dynamic with the ball in his hands as anyone in New England. While he has proven his ability to score, it’s his handle and ability to create for others that really stands out. He’s shifty, quick, and crafty and can turn no space into plenty of space in a matter of seconds. Defensively, he’s an aggressive on-ball defender that can really move his feet and make life difficult for opposing ball-handlers. He made an early pledge to Albany and that continues to look like a steal for the Great Danes!
Previous Rank: 74 (+13)
Reeves turned a strong summer into his first Division I scholarship offer and hasn’t looked back since. The modern day stretch-four is a good verticle athlete that has deep range on his jumper. Reeves’ offense is probably farther ahead than his defense right now as he’s shown that he can score in multiple ways while also being a willing ball mover. His ceiling has continued to rise due to his willingness to be physical and mix it up inside. He’s quick enough to guard down a position and strong enough to guard up one. As we move closer to the spring, he could be a very nice late get for a low-major program that’s looking for a big who’s capable of making shots from the perimeter.
Previous Rank: 83 (+16)A physical scoring guard, McClease has taken full advantage of his post-grad year and is really starting to show off a well-rounded offensive game. Always a threat as a driver, McClease has started to expand his game to involve more playmaking as well as consistent shot making. He’s shown another level of athleticism and now makes play above the rim on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he can defend either guard position as he has good lateral quickness and the IQ to be in the right spot most of the time. He’s another guy who should be on the radar of scholarship schools and could be a nice late pickup in this recruiting cycle.
Previous Rank: 158 (+46)
The NHIAA’s reigning leading scorer followed up a fantastic high school campaign by taking his game to another level in the off-season. A true shooting guard, Soden earned his first scholarship offer this summer and, so far this season, has picked up right where he left off last winter. When he’s not knocking down shots from the perimeter, there’s some craftiness to his game. His offensive is a mix of shot fakes, pivots, hesitations, and euro-steps, but he’s also shown that he can finish through contact at the rim off straight line drives. He competes defensively and most importantly, has done nothing but win basketball games over the last year plus.

Seney has followed up a strong summer with a nice start to his prep school season. The lefty guard has proven to be a capable shot maker and a defensive stopper for his Bradford Christian squad. More of a combo-guard than anything else, he has deep range on his jumper and knows how to play within the flow of an offense. Defensively, he’s an on-ball stopper and a guy who really, really competes on that end of the floor. Another guy who already has a scholarship offer on the table, Seney’s shot making and perimeter defense should be attractive to schools that are looking to bring in an impact guard late in the recruiting cycle.
Previous Rank: 167 (+48)rnGaldenzi’s rise comes after a strong summer was followed up by a good start to the prep season. A scoring guard, Galdenzi has a ton of craft to his game as a rim finisher. He’s not afraid of contact and has proven to be a physical rim finisher. He’s got some wiggle off the bounce which allows him to create space to get into his pull-up game. Defensively, he plays with a chip on his shoulder. He’s vocal, isn’t afraid to guard the ball, and makes plays as a help defender. At the end of the day, he’s a competitor that should have a long list of options when it comes time to pick a college destination.
