Arguably the best playmaker in New England, Toews does all the little things that a coach looks for out of his point guard. A Boston College commit, Toews plays with great pace and controls the flow of the game. He’s really good making reads out of ball screens, knows when to pick his spots as a scorer, and has incredible floor vision. His IQ is his best asset defensively as he always in the right spot and seems to make reads one play ahead of everyone else. His rise up the rankings is no surpise as he had a terrific spring and summer for the Middlesex Magic before continuing to do the same at The Newman School this fall.

Toews is an exceptional player who flawlessly orchestrates Newman’s offense, executing plays with precision. His ability to read the game and make smart decisions makes him a key scorer and facilitator for the team. Toews thrives in clutch situations, stepping up when it matters most and delivering crucial points or assists to secure victories. Toews is the floor general of his team, orchestrating plays and guiding his teammates with precision. Toews possesses combination of elite ball-handling skills and exceptional court vision, which enables him to create opportunities for himself and his teammates with ease. Notably, he’s not afraid to take it to the rim and finish effectively, even amidst challenging defensive presence. Earlier this year, Toews received an offer from Boston University. Toews attacks the basket strong and has the athleticism and skill to finish over taller defenders. He is also shoots a high percentage from outside and elite playmaker. During the high school season, Toews was locked in, including a 24 point, 7 assist performance. He also stood out at the National Prep Showcase.

I really liked what I saw from Luka against Worcester Academy. He may be a bit under sized, but that didn’t seem to effect him. He is very good at creating separation. He always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.  He made many tough finishes  at the rim, and made great reads on the defense to set his teammates up. He doesn’t try to do too much, and just plays his game. He really understands the game well. He controls the pace of the game and is a good decision maker. He even had a few rebounds in the game as well. I think he has the potential to play the division 1 college level.
