There were some awesome individual performances this week, and we want to take an article to highlight those. Check out five players who made impressions on us with their play this week.
Wilkins continues to play in the post like the HM prospect he is, going for 28 points and 12 rebounds in a blowout of Durham Academy on Saturday. He’s a load to handle in the low post as he can both score with his back to the basket as well as make plays for others with good vision. A difficult matchup for anyone at the high school level, his blend of size and quickness at 6’9 and a full 240-250 pounds makes him a problem night in and night out.
Taylor continues to show why he’s one of the top unsigned seniors in the state, dropping 35 including the game winner in Carmel’s takedown of Cannon School on Saturday. He’s really added a dimension to his game this year as a scorer, able to knock down more shots on the move and from deep range while continuing to put pressure on the rim as a slasher. This has him averaging 26 PPG and showing why LM and MM programs should reach out ASAP to try and get him to sign.
Marcus came up big for the Lions in their big CISAA win over Cannon School, going for 24 points on 10/15 shooting, including two three pointers. He was unstoppable inside, using his physical frame to bully defenders out of the way and finish strong around the rim. He’s a rebounding threat when he’s not looking to score, as he averaged more rebounds last week in the games where he scored less. He’s an X-Factor for a Covenant Day team that is getting hot at the right time.
Christian Sias

Sias was a perfect 11/11 from the field as his Fayetteville Christian group came up narrowly short against Northwood Temple, finishing with 27 points and 12 boards on the night. He’s been playing really well so far for the Warriors as an undersized post presence, averaging 19 PPG and 9 RPG on the interior. His ability to finish around the basket on simple dumpoffs, post catches and layups has been impressive as he shoots almost 70% from the field. A name to monitor from the Fayetteville area.
Calvert has played well as the Cougar’s leading scorer on the season, and backed it up with two gritty performances last week against some of the top teams in the state. He had 19 points against Greensboro Day and 26 against HPCA who are considered to be a state title favorite. He’s been an electric scorer who can get his buckets in a variety of ways, making him very interchangeable and able to play within any offense. Able to knock down the three ball, play at the rim, or make plays within the mid-range area.
