Marcus came up big for the Lions in their big CISAA win over Cannon School, going for 24 points on 10/15 shooting, including two three pointers. He was unstoppable inside, using his physical frame to bully defenders out of the way and finish strong around the rim. He’s a rebounding threat when he’s not looking to score, as he averaged more rebounds last week in the games where he scored less. He’s an X-Factor for a Covenant Day team that is getting hot at the right time.

Marcus is a big man prospect who’s continued to show his growth over the past few seasons as he looks to make his mark in the frontcourt this season at Covenant Day School. He was a solid option in the frontcourt at Carmel Christian School as he produced 7.1 PPG and 4.0 RPG as a key reserve in their rotation. With a role in the starting rotation in 2023-24, he’ll be a force to be reckoned with in his final year in the NCISAA as he moves to Covenant Day School before heading off to Appalachian State in the Sun Belt.

Marcus put his physicality and toughness on full display as a big part of this team down low. He’s built like a 6’8 defensive end, with all kinds of strength and athletic ability. It translates to defense, acting as a brick wall in the post and protecting the paint well. He’s always going to rebound the ball well when boxing out, which he did well for the majority of his time on the floor. On offense, his game is developing from a “dunk everything” kind of guy, as he knocked down a three and was able to act more mobile and run the floor well. His offense will be the key to where he ends up, with a lot of physical, defensive upside still left in him for a program to bring out.

He’s a name at Carmel Christian School to get to know, recently earning offers from Mercer and Rice University in the month of May. He’s slowly finding his way as a strong-framed presence on the interior on both ends.
