Chapin was very impressive in this game. He neutralized the trap early, successfully passing out of it every time. Chapin was solid as the lead ball handler and could be trusted to initiate the offense. He’s a strong player that could shred off contact and use a physical really drive to get to the rim. Chapin also did a nice job finding lanes and finishing with some creativity. He showed off a nasty pull up jumper with range well beyond the arc.
It was easy to see what college coaches like so much about Moore’s game. He’s at his best when he turns the corner and gets downhill, but his game is much more diverse than that. He worked off of screens and read the defenders like a wizard. As soon as defenders started going under the screens to slow the dribble drive, he started burying a couple triples. Moore is an excellent combination of power and fast twitch that makes him so tough to consistently defend.
Dante Wimberly
Dante Wimberly
I was kind of thinking that Wimberly should be a ranked prospect. This game confirmed that belief. He’s a very quick defender that will play nose to nose D on the perimeter and flick his hand up and knock away the ball. Wimberly’s quick hands and quick feet make him a menace on that end. He looked like he can get hot with his jumper on the offensive end and use that speed to create.
Kyle Vanhaitsma
Kyle Vanhaitsma
I was very impressed with Vanhaitsma, especially in the first half. He had an early bucket that came off a really strong post move over his left shoulder. Vanhaitsma had some excellent passes out of the high post and picked up a couple assists that way. He hit a cutter for a score and had a nice kick pass to an open shooter. Vanhaitsma even showed range on his jumper when he hit a 3 from the top.
I was impressed with Willick on both ends of the floor. He knew how to rotate and close out quick when playing a zone defense. Willick looked like a stone cold shooter in this game. He buried at least 4 catch and shoot triples in the game. It seemed like every time that Kenowa Hills needed a bucket, Willick delivered a big one.
