It’s been a good class for a long time and a ton of these players will be making an impact in college over the course of their careers. Let’s take a look at the top point guards in this latest rankings update. This does not include any players who were in the top 10 in the class.
One of the state’s leading scorers, Price is a shoot first point guard who has “in the gym” range on his jumper and won’t hesitate to let it go. Ty is a really good shooter that continues to improve as a playmaker. He claims multiple D1 offers already.
One of my favorite point guards to watch in the class, Waide is super skilled and excels at playmaking and will sit down and play defense. An above average passer, Santi is good at getting into the paint and scoring or distributing to teammates.
A pass first point guard that other players love to play with, Cayden is one of the best floor generals in the class. He never forces his offense and excels at setting up teammates. Reed is capable of going for 20-25 points per game if he wanted to force the issue but lets the game come to him and has a bulldog mentality on defense.
Finley just got back into game action last night after missing the first third of the season with a combination of injury and illnesses. When he’s right, Eli is one of the best scoring guards in the class and has a nearly unguardable floater that he can get off and sink from anywhere within 12 feet of the rim.
Lawson has excelled since his transfer to Trinity. Becoming less of a scorer and more of a facilitator, Lawson has been more of a table setter for the Rocks and does a great job of getting open looks for others. He’s also had some good rebounding games and isn’t afraid to mix it up on the glass.
