Favorites
Casmir Chavis Casmir Chavis 6'2" | PG Park Center | 2024 State #170 Nation MN of Park Center. The 26 against Champlin Park on Thursday was good, the 23 points against Lakevile North was event better, and the way Chavis seemed to tell everybody in Pirate green “I got this” and made a six point deficit a two point win with four straight attacks down the middle was outstanding. That game winner and game winning stretch was a Mr. Basketball moment.
Jackson McAndrew Jackson McAndrew 6'10" | PF Wayzata | 2024 State #24 Nation MN of Wazyata. The Trojans continue to show why they are preseason number one and Jackson continues to show why he is one of the best player prospects in the nation. Not only did he have 38 points going against Totino-Grace, Jackson hit the one handed game winner at the buzzer in the 1 vs 1 match-up. That was a Mr. Basketball moment touching the ball in over the net. Jackson followed that with 27 last night against top ten ranked Shakopee.
Isaac Asuma Isaac Asuma 6'3" | PG Cherry | 2024 State #102 Nation MN of Cherry. Asuma has not had a Mr. Basketball moment yet because the opponents have not been able to keep them close enough for a big moment to happen. Asuma taking the game over with three straight two-way plays against Holy Family at the tip off was memorable though. Asuma had 21 points, nine boards and five assists while holding Kole Hanson Kole Hanson 6'2" | PG Holy Family | 2024 State MN to six points. Asuma’s team won again last night although the numbers have yet to be posted.
Daniel Freitag Daniel Freitag 6'1" | PG Breck | 2024 State #142 Nation MN of Breck. Daniel came off the bench and had 24 points plus an early season dunk of the year candidate pushing Breck past top three Alexandria by three points. This was less a moment and more of a Mr. Basketball explosive highlight by the Wisconsin signed guard who has his team #1 in state.
Final Five
Jack Robison Jack Robison 6'7" | SF Lakeville North | 2024 State #158 Nation MN of Lakeville North. Robison has had 25 points and seven rebounds playing at a pretty high level before Chavis took over the game against the Panthers. North has only played twice and Jack had a big 34 in that other game (versus East Ridge).
Grayson Grove Grayson Grove 6'9" | PF Alexandria Area | 2024 State #171 Nation MN of Alexandria. Grove took over the Brainerd game with 20 second half points including eight points down the stretch on his way to a 33 point outing. He then dealt with foul trouble for his nine point, ten board game (had only four shots) in the Breck contest but then bounced back with 25 points and a dozen boards to beat a good Sauk Rapids-Rice team.
Isaiah Johnson Isaiah Johnson 6'7" | SF Totino-Grace | 2024 State #135 Nation MN of Totino-Grace. Had the monster game against Hopkins and then had 17 points, 5 rebounds in the loss to Wayzata on Saturday at the tip off. Johnson was solid but McAndrew stole the spotlight in that game, takes on Spring Lake Park tonight.
Andy Stefonowicz Andy Stefonowicz 6'2" | PG Minnetonka | 2024 State MN of Minnetonka. Andy completely controlled the Tonka fast racing win over Lakeville South with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Had 11 last night in the Tonka blowout win over Chaska. Andy did a nice job in his match-up versus DaMarcus Burks DaMarcus Burks 6'4" | SG Lakeville South | 2024 State MN and Tyler Forrest Tyler Forrest 6'2" | PG Chaska | 2027 State MN .

Jonathan Mekonnen Jonathan Mekonnen 6'8" | PF Eastview | 2024 State #201 Nation MN of Eastview. Had a monster 32 point game at the Tip Off hitting five threes and making half of his 24 attempts with nine rebounds. Also had 23 in the opener, team has played just two games. Eastivew lost to Orono as Brady Wooley Brady Wooley 6'9" | C Orono | 2025 State #187 Nation MN did a good job forcing Mekonnen into a lot of jumpers to get those 32.
Kyle Jorgensen Kyle Jorgensen 6'9" | C Minneapolis Washburn | 2024 State #308 Nation MN of Minneapolis Washburn. The Colorado State signed forward is averaging 21 points a game for a 2-1 Millers team. Have not seen or heard much on Kyle yet, will see him this weekend.
Chiang Ring Chiang Ring 6'8" | C Park Center | 2024 State #276 Nation MN of Park Center. Had 20 points and 10 rebounds in his latest game against Lakeville North. Andrew Quam Andrew Quam 6'5" | SF Lakeville North | 2024 State MN had 22 and eight going head to head with Ring in that game.
Tameron Ferguson Tameron Ferguson 6'2" | PG St. Cloud Tech | 2024 State MN of St. Cloud Tech. Had 34 points and six assists in the Tech 17 point loss to Richfield this weekend as CJ Armstrong had 52 coming back the other way.
