Top Unsigned Senior Baldwin Leads Way in Hyde Park Victory

The day opened up with a 58-49 win by Hyde Park against Leo. Hyde Park was led by [player_tooltip player_id='1373451' first='Jurrell' last='Baldwin']. The big bodied combo forward will be the top uncommitted prospect in our January update. He let it fly early coming out with an array of feathery jumpers from mid-range and three. Also mixed in a few slashes in a 20 point outing. Their combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1598709' first='Germaine' last='Benson'] is going to be a good small college/JUCO get late in the process. The senior has good strength and gets to the foul line as he notched 15 points.

Leo got a solid outing from wing Stephen Baraze contributing 12 points while class of 2027 Brian Kizer is a smaller guard to track in the freshman class as he can really knock down shots scoring 8 points.

Top 2025 Wings Square Off as Homewood Flossmoor Tops St. Ignatius

This was a game that many had circled with coaches all over the gym for it as SIU, Stanford, Cal, Valpo, UIC, West Virginia, along with the Miami (FL) head football coach and defensive line coach (NFL Hall of Famer) Jason Taylor were in the house. The headliners were the top two wings in the 2025 class [player_tooltip player_id='1385292' first='Phoenix' last='Gill'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1385293' first='Bryce' last='Heard'] squared off. Homewood Flossmoor got the win 49-37. Heard had his moments in the win hitting spot up threes, flashing as a passer, and scoring in the mid-range for 13 points and 5 rebounds. They got a big lift from 2025 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1774274' first='Jayden' last='Tyler'] in the second half with his three point shooting, and-1, along with a tough turnaround for 12 points. [player_tooltip player_id='1488791' first='Carson' last='Brownfield'] is a physical bucket getter that finishes well around the cup and loves to play in transition. Solid outing from Mac Hagemaster inside as the Lewis commit got on the glass, rim ran, and played tough defense.

Gill was off to a pretty good start early in the first quarter with a mid-range pull up, nice reverse layup for an and-1, then a sweet bounce pass for a dime. On that play he hurt his ankle. Came back in the second quarter and fought through it. Crashed the offensive glass and hit mid-range jumpers for 12 points and 7 rebounds. Solid game for [player_tooltip player_id='1295506' first='Sam' last='Horenkamp'] as the lead guard pushed at times, hit a runner, and a three for 7 points. Miami (FL) football commit Justin Scott had his future coaches in the house to see him display his physicality throwing guys around inside for a ton of rebounds while hitting a baseline jumper.

Curie Scores Big Win Against Downers Grove North

The next one up a battle of two of the top teams in the Chicagoland area as Curie defeated Downers Grove North 45-36. This was a much lower scoring game than many expected with DGN having one of the best offenses in the area. Curie held them down as this game never really had any flow to it. It was a balanced effort for Curie as [player_tooltip player_id='1157209' first='Will' last='Gonzalez'] led the way for Curie. The long and lanky wing went for 12 points impacting on both ends. UIC commit [player_tooltip player_id='1157211' first='Carlos' last='Harris'] showed off his toughness scoring in the paint while fighting through and injury netting 8 points. Early in the game they got a big lift from 2024 big man [player_tooltip player_id='1157229' first='Taevion' last='Collier']. The post hit mid-range shots, got to the line, and pounded the glass while scoring 8 points.

DGN was led by Princeton commit [player_tooltip player_id='1285524' first='Jack' last='Stanton']. The sharp shooter drained an array of threes with his elite marksmanship while displaying toughness. Love how well he moves without the ball. He had 19 points. Senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1507492' first='Alex' last='Miller'] is a high level spot up shooter and that is what he did connecting on a trio from beyond the arc for 9 points.

Class of 2026 Wings Duel in Rich Township Win Against Simeon

Rich Township picked up a big win for their program defeating Simeon 66-57 to close out the event. Class of 2026 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1845352' first='Jamson' last='Coulter'] had it all working on Sunday night. The strong bodied bucket getter was scoring from all three levels. Got to the rim along with the foul line on aggressive drives. Mid-range jumpers and threes with his flick of a wrist lefty shot. Burst with the rock in transition as he scored 22 points. Play of the day was a massive poster dunk by bouncy big man [player_tooltip player_id='1750703' first='Victor' last='Brown'] who also swatted shots and used his length to get steals. Was a defensive anchor scoring 6 points. At the point [player_tooltip player_id='2104984' first='Samar' last='Bures'] fed Brown for that dunk while also getting to the line and playing off his speed for 11 points. Solid game from [player_tooltip player_id='1285499' first='Nyzir' last='Duncan'] as the big man came off the bench scoring in the post and playing good defense for 7 points.

Simeon got a late push from their star 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1552394' first='Andre' last='Tyler'] who finished with 19 points including a barrage at the end of the game with deep threes, tip ins, baseline takes, and euro steps. Smooth scorer that when aggressive has a chance to be one of the better prospects in the sophomore class. Another solid game from [player_tooltip player_id='1385305' first='Lorenzo' last='Shields']. The 2025 point guard is a slick ball handler that excels in the open floor and working in the mid-range on pull ups or floaters. Solid passer too that had 11 points. Kas Nelson is a 2026 that keeps popping to us early in the season. Strong wing that has a nose for the ball, defends, and can hit an open shot. [player_tooltip player_id='2538967' first='Charles' last='Smith'] from Simeon made an impression in this one as well with his energy inside and rebounding in his area as he had 8 points.
