Baltic 74 Beresford 38
Jack was spectacular in this game, scoring 34 points. He started the game out with a three from the wing, then he really got going, getting to the hoop and finishing with athleticism. Showed a well-rounded skill set, shooting the three well and with confidence, and his usual high-flying ability. Made some impressive finishes at the hoop and some difficult jumpers. Stock continues to climb.
Great size and length at 6’9. He performed as a rim-protector and rebounder for Baltic. Hit a three at the end of the game with about 20 seconds left.
Highlights
The Mount Marty commit is as a solid and reliable point guard you’ll find. Runs the offense, takes care of the ball, and can hit shots. Plays tight and smart D on the ball-handler. Finished with 10 points.
Malachi was a bright spot for Beresford. He played fast and athletic. Showed some offensive confidence and got to the hoop in transition. I have him accounted for 2 threes as well, and a total of 12 points in the game.
Dakota Valley 68 Tea Area 58
Both of these teams are deep with talent with a bunch of prospects to mention.
It didn’t take long for Bruns to prove he’s ready for a big role and breakout this year for Dakota Valley. He poured in 24 points (9-16 FG) (2-3 3FG) in nearly 28 minutes of play.
Sam is one of the more individually gifted and aggressive scorers in the state and he proved it by scoring 30 points (12-27) (4-11 3FG) in 28:37 of playing time. He scored from all over the court in many different fashions.
Highlights
Wingert was his normal self, producing 28 points (11-18 FG) (3-3 3FG), 10 rebounds. He made for a tough matchup by being a load to handle in the paint and by popping three threes. He’s a skilled big man that has many interior moves to free himself up for looks at the hoop. An effective spin-game, where he makes tight spins to finish. Showed the ability to create his own mid-range shots and also catch-and-shoot. Plays with finesse and power.
Highlights
Was really impressed with his overall size as a 6’3 guard. And also impressed with his performance on the court. I believe he’s a next-level talent, with his size and skill combo. Finished with 16 points (5-11 FG) (2-6 3FG) + 6 rebounds. Overall, he used his body and strength to his advantage.
Grant was the lengthiest prospect in this game. He could put the ball on the floor some as well. Moved well. 3 rebounds, 4 points, 1 block, + 1 steal – 14:42 playing time. His length played a role in this game.
The Freshman entered the game in the 1st quarter and was active and the stage wasn’t too big. Played 13:19 — 5 rebounds, 1 point, + 1 steal. He’s a bouncy and athletic kid.
