He will be playing college football at SMSU, but will still be a dynamic playmaker on the hardwood this winter. You will be hard-pressed to find a harder worker than Mr. James. Chi is a great defender, an all-out hustler, a relentless rebounder, and an opportunistic scorer. I like his cutting, slashing, and explosive finishing.

How are his ball skills & is he consistent from the perimeter?

I wasn’t sure how James would develop skill-wise. He’s always had that built-in upside, but his skills are coming around more quickly for him than anticipated. Elite movement with an expanding offensive game.

James I’ve been lower on in the past, being a one-dimensional prospect with elite defensive movement traits. But his offensive game really took off this season. I saw a boatload of improvement with his handling and shot-making. His pull-up game is looking very comfortable. Another guy that has room for upside in this class.

James is known for his defensive prowess, but his offensive game is expanding now as well. He’s way more comfortable with the ball and is attacking off the drive, creating for himself and others. Scoring at a more high level and consistency. He’s all over the boards and is active snagging o-boards for putbacks. One of the top athletes in the state, with incredible bounce and rare movement.
