Saturday’s Top Performers – Scholar Roundball Classic

Aligbe is a load in the frontcourt. On first glance he looks like a big-bodied, physical center; however, his game is more naunced than that and he showed an impressive amount of skill throughout the course of his matchup with Bradford Christian. Aligbe was at his best when he was attacking closeouts off the bounce and playing with a high motor on the glass; but also showed glimpses of playmaking ability and a nice touch from behind the arc. His performance on Saturday was highlighted by his efficiency. He plays with a high IQ, making good decisions with the ball in his hands and often makes the right play over the flashy one. His ability to guard up and down a position stood out, as did his effortless shot from behind the three point line. A scrappy, high IQ floor general, Eisendrath has more creativity to his game than I anticpated. He has a nice burst in tight spaces and great floor vision. He does a great job of defending at the point of attack and keeping opponents out of the paint. While his physical gifts jumped out, it was his feel for the game and skill level that took him to another level. Frost knocked down shots from the perimeter, got into the paint off the bounce, showed some early signs of playmaking abilities, and protected the rim on the defensive end. All of 6'9u0022, with exceptional length, Kaba may turn out to be a steal for u003cemu003eSt. Bonaventureu003c/emu003e. While he's incredibly gifted on the offensive end, it was his defense that stood out in the early part of Peddie's game against Milton. At the next level, Kaba projects as a switchable defender on the perimeter with plus abilities as a help defender/shot blocker. As he adds strength, he may even be able to affectively guard bigger forwards. Offensively, he utilized his shot fake to get defenders off balance and showed the ability to get to the rim off the bounce.
