Murphy made his college decision official this week when he announced that he will be attending Babson College. It should be a great fit for him as the high IQ wing projects as a future all-NEWMAC type of prospect. Murphy, who recently stood out at the Scholar Roundball Classic, is capable of initiating offense as a primary ball-handler or sliding off the ball where he can score from behind the arc and as a cutter getting to the rim. Defensively, he has good positional size and length and when combined with his IQ, seems to always be in the right position.

Murphy had a solid performance in Tabor’s win over Berkshire and cemented himself as one of the better unsigned prospects in the region. His performance on Saturday was highlighted by his efficiency. He plays with a high IQ, making good decisions with the ball in his hands and often makes the right play over the flashy one. His ability to guard up and down a position stood out, as did his effortless shot from behind the three point line. As we get closer to the New Year, I wouldn’t be surprised if D2’s started to reach out and inquiry about his recruitment.
