Klitschko, a native of Germany, recently announced that he will be attending Amherst College in the fall. A post-grad at Taft School, Klitschko is a legit 7′ that has already proven to be a strong rim protector. While not yet a switchable perimeter defender, his size and length allows him to cover a lot of ground and he’s proven effective as a drop defender in ball screen coverage. Offensively, he moves well, has some athletic pop, and is a real screen-and-roll threat at the rim. He fits with the type of big man Amherst has recruited in recent years and should be able to carve out a nice role in the NESCAC.
Gueye has taken full advantage of his post-grad year at Putnam Science so far and recently committed to play Division I basketball at Sacred Heart University. The athletic wing profiles as multi-positional defender who is disruptive in passing lanes and at the rim. Offensively, his dynamic athleticism allows him to impact the game as a slasher, but he’s also improved this year as an outside shooter and decision maker off the bounce. He should be a nice piece for Sacred Heart as they transition to the MAAC next season.
Murphy made his college decision official this week when he announced that he will be attending Babson College. It should be a great fit for him as the high IQ wing projects as a future all-NEWMAC type of prospect. Murphy, who recently stood out at the Scholar Roundball Classic, is capable of initiating offense as a primary ball-handler or sliding off the ball where he can score from behind the arc and as a cutter getting to the rim. Defensively, he has good positional size and length and when combined with his IQ, seems to always be in the right position.

One of Maine’s top scorers so far this season, McLaughlin will be staying home for the next four years when he attends the University of Maine Farmington. A true scoring guard, who can play on or off the ball, McLaughlin has some athletic pop and really knows how to get to his scoring spots. He competes defensively, is stronger on the ball than he gets credit for, and is a good rebounder for his size. He’s the type of prospect who should be able to make an immediate impact in the NAC and potentially be an all-conference performer down the road.
