Will Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
Saas, a big man out of Tabor Academy in Massachusetts, checks in at #12 among the centers and #130 overall in this update. The 6’9″ big man has continued to be a stock riser in New England after adjusting well to a higher level of competition in the NEPSAC this winter. He’s continued to add strength to his frame and is more willing to play through contact in the paint, asserting himself as a defensive rebounder and threat to score on the low block. He moves well for his size, has the ability to defend on the perimeter for multiple dribbles, and shows the ability to operate as the hub of an offense from the elbows or short corner. Saas is playing for the New England Storm this spring and summer.

Saas, a center out of Tabor Academy, checks in at #112 overall and #16 among the centers. Saas should benefit greatly from the additional year he’ll get after reclassifying at Tabor, as the young big is rapidly growing into his frame and his game. He has a solid build and looks at though he could continue to add muscle mass to his frame. He isn’t afraid to be physical in the paint, does a nice job of rebounding in and out of his area, and is a quality rim protector. On the other end of the floor, he does a great job of running in transition, rolls hard to the rim out of ball screens, and moves well off of drives, which sets up his finishing around the basket.

Saas, a rapidly improving big out of Beverly in Massachusetts, makes an appearance in the rankings at #186. A stock riser this spring, he has a big frame, solid strength, and the ability to move well both up and down the floor and laterally. He’s shown a little bit of touch on his jumper, but has really improved with his motor and physicality. Defensively, he’s able to guard effectively in ball screens, uses his length to alter shots in the paint, and has become a strong presence on the glass. On the other end, he does a good job of catching high and finishing quickly, shows a good feel as a passer, and looks to be playing with more athletic pop as a finisher around the rim.

Saas, a budding post prospect out of Beverly, has stood out this spring as a paint scorer and post defender with the New England Storm. He does a nice job of playing to his strengths, standing out as an interior rebounder, rim protector, and roller in ball screens. He runs the floor well, has the strength needed to finish plays through contact at the rim, and has a huge catch radius with good hands. Defensively, he’s capable of protecting the rim from the help side and does a nice job of rebounding above the basket. At 6’9″, he has terrific positional size at the Division III level and should be a priority recruit in the region come this summer.
