Kaba was the most intriguing prospect I saw on Saturday. All of 6’9″, with exceptional length, Kaba may turn out to be a steal for St. Bonaventure. While he’s incredibly gifted on the offensive end, it was his defense that stood out in the early part of Peddie’s game against Milton. At the next level, Kaba projects as a switchable defender on the perimeter with plus abilities as a help defender/shot blocker. As he adds strength, he may even be able to affectively guard bigger forwards. Offensively, he utilized his shot fake to get defenders off balance and showed the ability to get to the rim off the bounce. A good athlete, Kaba also had a good, clean jump shot that went in more often than not.

Kaba will play more like a center/power forward at times but can show he can be a small forward with his handles and ability to bring the ball up the floor. He has an excellent shot from deep and seems to improve and get better at it every year. His range will extend the more he makes from that distance throughout a game. Kaba will look to come off of pick-n-pops to get his shots. He is also a rebounding machine coming up with every board it seems and then kicking it out to start the fastbreak.

Kaba is a multi-tool type of player at the small forward position that looks to play fast. His ability to become a point and survey the court for open opportunities gives him a great advantage because of his 6’7″ size. Kaba will look to come off of pick-n-rolls or wait for his big man to get better positioning down low. He makes clean-cut passes that make it harder for defenders to try and pick off.
