With a strong 2024 recruiting class all ready solidified, the Rebels have their eyes set toward the future. Here’s a look at key local prospects that UNLV is targeting.
Priorities – Have to keep these local guys home.
The Mojave star is a top priority for the Rebels, and why not. The two time state champion is putting up almost 30 per game for the Rattlers this season. A natural scorer, Shaw can get to the rack in 1 v 1 situations, finish above the rim in transition, and shoot it with accuracy from the college three point line. With his dad being a former player for Rebels assistant Deshawn Henry UNLV has the inside track.

The 7 footer from Vista is a priority for a lot of schools. He holds several power 5 offers, including one from Blue Blood Kansas. The simple fact of the Rebels being in the hunt for our number 2 player in the class is a quite a story, as the home grown big man, came from way off the radar, to become one of the most coveted prospects in recent memory.

Jefferson’s recruiting is picking up a lot of steam. The PG has recently received some power 5 interest and already holds multiple offers. His leadership and playmaking ability will be coveted, perhaps by none more than the Rebels.

Only makes sense to protect the lineage, difficult to image that he wouldn’t be a priority with how his older brother has changed the culture of the program. Our #1 player in the class is a stud in his own right, with the ability to control the game with his playmaking and scoring. The Rebels have already jumped in, offering the 2026 PG last year.

Worth a Look – Might want to get eyes on these guys now.
Has shown a ton of improvement over the past year. Knock down shooter that has evolved into a playmaker. He currently has some low majors including Cal – St Bakersfield, at 6’6 and a legit ability to play the 2, he’s definetly a player the Rebels should think about taking a look at.

The 5A state champ begins his Junior year at Red Rock. Yapi is an exciting playmaker with handles, and an elite wiggle. In my opinon the biggest question has been about his size, however a recent growth spurt has him solidly at 6 feet, which included with his skill set, makes him a player to check out for the Rebels.

Physical speciman with skill. The question isn’t whether or not he should be on the radar, it’s whether he will choose football or basketball. The stud wide receiver is just rounding into basketball shape, and looking like a prospect. Still obviously early, but the Rebels don’t want to miss out on a potential stockriser, before he blows up.
Sleepers – May not be the first names you think of, but they’ve got a shot.
I love everything about Jackson’s game. The knock on the guard is the one thing he can’t control however when it comes to exciting, dynamic scorers look no further than the Las Vegas High Star. May be a long shot, but the Rebels may not want to miss out on the sleeper.
Here’s the thing, I believe that if he hasn’t already, the stretch 4 will end up with a Reno offer, however he would look good in Rebels Red as well. A skilled 4 with a competitive streak, Synder could be a major pick up as a sleeper product.
