Dawson provides the Chargers with a scoring punch and is very vocal on the defensive end of the floor. When on the bench, Noem is providing leadership and support to his teammates. He does of good job of making others aware on the floor through his communication.

[player_tooltip player_id='2165559' first='Gavin' last='Moeding'] (2024) |5'11 G| Huron

He does all the little things that make the Tigers a better team. He leads Huron in deflections in the first 2 games with 8 and 6 steals. Gavin is willing to guard the opponent's best scorer. He is one of the Tigers best offensive rebounders by keeping possessions alive. Moeding is the hardest worker in practices and he will not take any plays off. Gavin is a quiet leader and leads by example.

[player_tooltip player_id='1480612' first='Jaxon' last='Beiswenger'] (2024) |6'4 G/F| Fargo Davies

The Eagles are 2-0 on the season and ranked #2 in Class AA. Beiswenger is the "Glue Guy" for Davies. He is one of the most versatile players in the EDC. Jaxon can play and guard positions 1 through 5. Beiswenger does not just play multiple positions, he excels at it! Impressive stats from Jaxon up to this point in the season: 12.7 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 5 apg, 3.7 spg!

[player_tooltip player_id='1163446' first='Maddox' last='Pierce'] (2024) |5'11 G| Hettinger-Scranton

Pierce is a great example of a "Glue Guy". He makes the team better! Maddox has started since his 8th-grade year and has the respect of his teammates. He leads by example and is the first to enter and leave the gym. Pierce uses his experience to help guide his teammates. He has the talent and skills to play at a high level, but his greatest strength is his desire and competitiveness. Maddox's leadership skills will be on full display as he and his teammates adapt to a new system.

[player_tooltip player_id='1454708' first='Oliver' last='Jensen'] (2024) |6'1 SF| Bismarck Century

Oliver is a senior who does a lot of things that may not show up in the box score. Whether that is guarding the other team's best player or diving on the floor for a lose ball, he does a lot of the dirty work for the Patriots. He is a tough, physical leader who has been in the Century program for years and understands the expectations. Jensen is a guy who brings it every day no matter if its practice or game. He holds other guys accountable and is just a great locker room guy. Oliver is definitely someone you want on your team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2276525' first='Robbie' last='Begalka'] (2024) |6'1 F| Deuel

The Cards are off to a hot start, 3-0 on the season. Begalka provides a presence of strength and you know he is on the court! He has continued to find body control as a defender and creates a brick wall for anyone who drives the lane. Robbie is willing to accept any role to help his team become their best. Rebounding, screening, and defending are his strengths, and he always has good energy on the bench. He gives his all on the court. Begalka continues to help lead the Cardinal underclassmen and is a strong supporter of the C Team. He recently signed with Dakota State University to play football and throw for their track team. He also received an academic scholarship to pursue a degree as a teacher. Robbie is involved with Band, Chorus, FCA, and has a good GPA. His hard work has definitely paid off and his future is looking bright!

[player_tooltip player_id='2128932' first='Anderson' last='Porisch'] (2027) |6'4 SF| Huron

WHY?

He is the #2 ranked prospect in the SD 2027 Class. Anderson is a quality athlete who can score from all levels, he brings a good amount of versatility to the floor. In the first game of the season, Porisch scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. In game two on Tuesday, Anderson scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Double-Double for a frosh, not bad! Through two games, Anderson is the second-leading scorer for the Tigers. Talk about an intriguing player!

[player_tooltip player_id='1503881' first='Benson' last='Kieffer'] (2025) |5'10 G| Rapid City Christian

WHY?

The Comets have started out smoking hot with a 3-0 record. RCC has scored in the high 80's in all three games and every contest has been a large-margin victory. The Comets have a good game tonight at the LNI Invitational vs. White River. [player_tooltip player_id='1503881' first='Benson' last='Kieffer'] vs. [player_tooltip player_id='1266275' first='Nic' last='Marshall'] will be must-watch basketball is Rapid City! Benson is known as a baller who hits big shots, creates for others, plays fearless, and his pull-up J is almost perfect. Give the West River baller some love!

[player_tooltip player_id='1144617' first='Carson' last='Haerer'] (2024) |6'0 G| Bottineau

WHY?

The Braves are 1-1 on the young season. Carson, who is a stellar multi-sport athlete is off to a blistering start. Haerer is skilled and smart but his toughness & work ethic are what stand out to me. His splashy numbers are a by-product of the effort he puts in. In two games, Haerer has gone for 24 and 35 points! Get this kid on your watchlist, he is an All-State talent, college coaches also need to take a serious look!

[player_tooltip player_id='1165355' first='Grant' last='Cosley'] (2025) |6'0 G| North Border

WHY?

The skilled and clever Mr. Cosley opened up the season with 25 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 three-pointers. The Eagles lost a large amount of talent to graduation and it looks like Grant will be the new alpha. Cosley is good on D, creates for others, and he can obviously score the rock. Keep eyes on Cosley and the Eagles, they are a sneaky good team from up North!

[player_tooltip player_id='2237765' first='Kaden' last='Moore'] (2027) |5'9 G| North Border

WHY?

The Eagles are 1-0, they took care of business on Tuesday against DVE for a 75-61 victory. The young Mr. Moore went for a wildly productive Double-Double. 19 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 5 triples, not bad for a frosh! Kaden is a smart, hard-working, and fundamental player. His father and head coach, Dan Moore goes for win #100 tonight vs. Larimore. If you are in the Grand Forks area this evening, get out and watch the Eagles swoop on the Polar Bears!

https://twitter.com/DaksHoops/status/1735719550476488969

[player_tooltip player_id='1164786' first='Tony' last='Leal'] (2024) |6'5 PF| West Fargo

WHY?

He is one of the most physical, strong, and hard-working players in North Dakota. Last night, Tony had two big blocks late and a huge D-rebound during crunch time. Stat-wise, Leal went for 27 points and 9 rebounds in the win against Shanley. He will be playing college football at Bemidji State next year. Do not miss out on the chance to watch this beast play basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1625215' first='Trey' last='Maaland'] (2024) |6'1 G| Deuel

WHY?

You could not ask for a better start to the season for the Cardinals, they are hot and they are 3-0! Speaking of hot, [player_tooltip player_id='1625215' first='Trey' last='Maaland'] had a historic Thursday night. Trey went off for 38 points and 9 rebounds, Maaland set the Deuel Single Game Scoring Record! That record was previously held by Bryce Boyd (1996-1997). Maaland is a star and we highly encourage you to check him out this winter!

[player_tooltip player_id='2142302' first='Zeke' last='Barnick'] (2024) |6'5 F| Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier

WHY?

The Rebels are 1-0 on the year and ranked #5 in the State polls. This kid is a freak athlete who can catch, rip, and rise up for a 2-handed WHAM in the blink of an eye! In game 1, Barnick went for 9 points and 6 rebounds. Expect Zeke to bring a well-rounded game to the court every night. [player_tooltip player_id='2255543' first='Braeden' last='Kinzler'] had a big night shooting in game 1, so Zeke did not have to produce many points, but he played solid defense, and his athletic DUNK energized the crowd! The Rebels are serious and Barnick is an underrated player to watch.

PHD is circling back to articles that we did in the past couple of days. We have more Glue Guys and extra ballers to add for Players You Need To Watch. There are too many impressive talents in the Dakotas and we did not want to leave these guys out. They all deserve recognition and your attention!
