Putman burst onto the scene with a 40-point, 12-rebound effort in his varsity debut against Anamosa, and he hasn’t really slowed down since. He’s a well-built 6-4/6-5 wing with an excellent mid-range game, range out to the arc, good court vision, and he’s fantastic on the glass on both ends of the floor, using his size, athleticism, and IQ to get to the right spots, high point the ball, and pull down boards left and right. He’s averaging 17.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.6 steals, and 1.5 blocks a game so far for the Beavers.
Braylon Bingham Braylon Bingham 6'2" | SG Pleasantville | 2027 State IA (Pleasantville)
Another freshman who had a huge varsity debut, Bingham dropped 29 points with 11 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals in his first action against Melcher-Dallas, and was huge early this season for the Trojans, who played without a few key players for the first handful of games. He’s a 6-2 wing with the length to impact the game defensively, and he has been really good on the glass early in his career. He’s a capable shooter from deep, but is at his best when he’s getting downhill and attacking the rim. He’s averaging 20.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.6 steals a game.
Gage Chance (Albia)
The next in a long line of Chance brothers to come through Albia, Gage is a 6-4 wing who can score inside and out. He has good size and length, shoots it well from the arc, and is strong on the glass on both ends of the floor. He leads the Blue Demons in scoring (13.0 points), rebounding (4.7), and steals (1.9) while posting 46-37-71 shooting splits.
Tate Wallace Tate Wallace 6'3" | PF Regina | 2027 State IA (Regina)
Wallace has been extremely efficient early this season for the Regals, shooting 58.9% from the floor through their first nine games. A 6-2 wing who does a large majority of his damage by getting to the rim, he’s averaging 12.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals a game. The next step in his development will be gaining some confidence in his jumper, as only 7 of his 73 field goal attempts so far have come from behind the arc.
Oaklan Jirak Oaklan Jirak 6'2" | SG Wilton | 2027 State IA (Wilton)
Another skilled freshman at Wilton, Jirak is a long, bouncy 6-2 wing who can score from all three levels in bunches. He has a pure stroke from the arc and moves really well without the ball in his hands, displaying a quick, fluid release. He’s good playing downhill and getting to the rim both in the halfcourt and in transition, and he’ll contribute on the glass and on the defensive end. He’s averaging 12.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals a game on 46-36-54 shooting splits.
