There’s a lot to like about Salenbien’s game and he showed that in his team’s opening game. Lenawee Christian opened the season with a 74-60 win against Blissfield. Salenbien’s well rounded skill set and game played a huge part in the win. He finished with 17 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The young man should be on radars ASAP.

Cottingham sent a message loud and clear in his team’s first game. He helped lead Utica to a 68-49 victory against Port Huron Northern. The senior forward is still available and recruitable and he showed college coaches why they should be very aware of him. Cottingham finished with a dominating 24 point and 14 rebound double-double.

Williams didn’t just make a statement. He put himself in the record books of a storied basketball program. He finished a prime time matchup with Ferndale with an eye-popping 13 assists. Williams saw the floor so well and recognized when and where the ball needed to be. He dished it off both in half court sets as well as in transition. Williams instantly put a lot of eyes and attention on his game.
Already one of the top players in the state, the whispers from scrimmages were that Sanderson has gotten even better. Those rumors appear to be very true. He was lights out offensively in game number 1, finishing with 40 points, 27 of those were in the second half when his team needed them to get the W. Watch out though, because as fun as the scoring numbers are, he’s also an elite lead guard and may be even more comfortable dishing it off.
He’s BAAAACCCKKK. I threw out there this fall that Brooks had the look of a D1 talent and in his team’s first game, he made me look way smarter than I really am. The young man is just a different kind of athlete now that he’s healthy again. Brooks led his team to a tight 67-64 win against Detroit Edison. He finished the game with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
