Falcons Led from Beginning to End:
The Ben Lippen Falcons this season bring back plenty of experience from last year’s roster. Head Coach Jay Reid will be a team to watch out for on any given night this season. Sophomore guard Braysen Stockman Braysen Stockman 6'0" | PG Ben Lippen | 2026 State SC really likes having the rock in his hands and making plays for others on the floor. Stockman is a crafty guard with great court vision. Braysen can get to the cup and finish with both hands on either side of the rim. He really likes to showcase a nice crossover move to race by defenders or simply pull-up with a jumper from time to time. Braysen dropped 20 points in a win over St John’s Country Day out of Orange Park, FL on Saturday.
Stephen Nichols showed very good promise playing around the bucket. Nichols does his best work close to the cup. He finished with 16 points awhile converting several bunnies and putbacks today.
Buzz Buxton and Maddox Stockman Maddox Stockman 5'9" | PG Ben Lippen | 2027 State SC help provide plenty of help from the Falcons backcourt. Buxton was able to connect on drives to the cup and more the less be in the right place at the right time today. Maddox Stockman Maddox Stockman 5'9" | PG Ben Lippen | 2027 State SC is just a freshman this season for the Falcons. Maddox converted a few open three-pointers when he wasn’t being creative with some of his passing skills today.
Wildcats Will Be Contenders in Class 5A:
The Lexington HS Wildcats will certainly be contenders this season in Class 5A. The Wildcats defeated Lower Richland HS here today behind the strong play of University of Texas signee Cameron Scott Cameron Scott 6'6" | SG Lexington | 2024 State #23 Nation SC , Jaxon Prunty Jaxon Prunty 6'6" | SF Lexington | 2024 State SC , Caleb Campbell Caleb Campbell 6'8" | PF Lexington | 2024 State SC and Kaleb Evans Kaleb Evans 6'3" | CG Lexington | 2025 State #243 Nation SC .
Scott the #1 player in the 2024 Palmetto State led the way here today with 22 points. Cameron was able to finish drives strong to the cup or simply knockdown the mid-range jumper.
Prunty and Campbell both bring good senior leadership to the table for the Wildcats. Jaxon is a very versatile player with his ability to play multiple positions on the floor. Campbell and play inside-out and feels very comfortable facing up from downtown at times.
Evans brings good size to the backcourt and some crafty passing skills to boot. Kaleb can get the ball into the paint or simply attack the rim.
The Wildcats have plenty of fire power on any given night where any one of these players can step up and lead the way.
Atkinson Keeps Improving:
Alex Atkinson Alex Atkinson 6'9" | C Lower Richland | 2024 State SC had a nice summer on the Grassroots Circuit with his play. Atkinson continues to develop his game under former NBA player JoJo English at Lower Richland HS. Alex brings some good bounce and versatility to the floor. Atkinson is very quick to the ball wherever he’s on the floor. He can step-out and knockdown the 3-ball or simply stalk the baseline at time.
Alex is a quick leaper with the ability to contest and challenge shots on the defensive end. Buy stock now only going to keep getting better.
Blue Devils Will Surprise Some Teams this Season:
Dreher HS will really look to surprise some folks this coming season. Head Coach AJ Caldwell really has some nice pieces in place. Jordan Barr Jordan Barr 6'2" | SG Dreher | 2024 State SC , Martaz Owens Martaz Owens 6'3" | CG Dreher | 2024 State SC and Jordan Brown Jordan Brown 6'1" | CG Dreher | 2026 State SC could be a nice 3-headed monster for the Blue Devils this season.
Barr a combo guard was able to explode to the rim and finish today. Owens a left-handed shooting guard brings plenty of experience to the lineup for the Blue Devils. Brown will be a name to watch out for sure down the road. Jordan has the ability to score the ball in a hurry. This trio will provide plenty of wins and experience this coming season to Dreher HS.
Cardinals looking to Get Back To Full Strength:
The Cardinal Newman Cardinals will be just fine when they put their full roster on the floor. The Cardinals have been without the services of Elton Smith Jr Elton Smith Jr 6'9" | PF Cardinal Newman | 2026 State SC and Amarii King Amarii King 6'3" | PG Cardinal Newman | 2025 State SC recently. Evan Carter Evan Carter 6'4" | SF Cardinal Newman | 2024 State SC a left-handed forward finished with 20 points in a loss to Dreher HS on Saturday. Carter brings good versatility to the floor and length. Evan plays active on both sides of the court.
Senior left-handed guard Josiah Peeples Josiah Peeples 6'0" | PG Cardinal Newman | 2024 State SC really likes to show his ability to knockdown shots from the mid-range. Desmond Harrington Desmond Harrington 6'7" | PF Cardinal Newman | 2027 State SC is really starting to figure things out and will be that presence in the paint down the road for the Cardinals.
