These two events featured some spectacular performances from some of the Upper State’s best teams and prospects. Take a look at which players stood out the most between the two events:
O’Kelley was the highest-ranked player in the Prep Hoops SC 2024 Class Rankings at the Daniel Christmas Tournament. And with a 20-point performance boosted by a dominant third quarter against Liberty, Cameron backed up the hype. He showed an ability to get to the rack with ease, consistently beating his primary defender going left and finishing around help defenders. Cameron also had success from the perimeter, knocking down 2 of his 4 attempts.

After winning the Daniel Christmas Tournament this week, the Greenwood Eagles are now 10-2. The play of Jeremiah Brooks Jeremiah Brooks 6’0″ | PG Greenwood | 2025 State SC is a big part of the team’s terrific start to the season. In the Eagles First Round victory against Collins Hill (GA), Jeremiah put up 15 points knocking down 5 3’s in the 59-49 win. Brooks had the ball in his hands a lot and made other winning plays apart from the shooting. He has very quick movements and sees the floor well, allowing him to be a true facilitating guard or a spot-up shooting guard.

Another large reason for the early season success of Greenwood is CJ Terrell CJ Terrell 6’6″ | PF Greenwood | 2025 SC . Terrell took over the second half of the Eagles win over Collins Hill (GA) on Day One of the Daniel Christmas Tournament. CJ boosted the Eagles with a 9-0 solo run out of the halftime locker room after trailing by 6. His dominance began with the perimeter shooting. Terrell knocked down a couple of open threes, but as the defense adjusted he still knocked down the same shots despite them being more contested. He finished around the basket through contact, which made up part of that 9-0 run. On the defensive end, Terrell had a couple blocks but impacted several more shots and even took a charge, giving him one of the more impressive two-way performances of the week.
Despite coming off the bench, the Sophomore made a big impact in the host’s win over Palmetto on Wednesday afternoon. Daniel started slow offensively, but Conley brought energy to his team as soon as he was inserted. Jackson did a good job of running the floor and having ready hands as a pass catcher and as a rebounder. He also is a threat with his back to the basket. Once the Lions’ lead had reached an unsurmountable amount, Jackson became the main option as many of the other top producers were rested. He again took over that stretch and would finish with 16 points and 5 rebounds.
Dre’s standout performance began at the start of Woodmont’s win over High Point on Thursday. Huff had 11 First Quarter Points knocking down all 6 Field Goals. Many of the shots he made wouldn’t be qualified as easy shots, either. His ability to create for himself off the dribble was impressive. Dre is a very quick guard who is also quite shifty, making him a nightmare for opponents to guard. He finished with 22 points but also added 3 assists as the Wildcats handled the Grizzlies in Round Two of the McDonald’s Big Mac Shot Clock Classic.
DeAnthony Ross DeAnthony Ross 6’7″ | SF Highh Point Academy | 2024 State SC also had a terrific game in the Woodmont-High Point Academy matchup. Ross had 13 First Quarter Points knocking down his first 6 field goals. Many of the Grizzlies had difficulties finding driving lanes through the Woodmont 3-2 Zone, but DeAnthony was frequently a passing option in the middle of the zone but also got through the zone with crafty scoops and step-throughs. Ross’s ability to create for himself and finish around the basket was very impressive, but he also knocked down some perimeter shots. He put up a strong 29 Point 10 Rebound double-double and also chipped in with some steals and blocks on the defensive end.

Zyan shot the lights out against Mauldin on Day Two of the McDonald’s Big Mac Shot Clock Classic. He made 7 3s and set a new Catawba Ridge School Record with 33 points in the Copperheads 89-58 win. Hager did a great job of being shot-ready all night but once he got in a rhythm in the 3rd quarter, it was game over for the Mavericks. Zyan has been one of the best shooters in the state for the past two seasons now and could make an instant impact for any college program next year.
Lance is another Copperhead who had a brilliant performance on Thursday. Barnes played a massive role in Catawba Ridge’s 15-3 run and 31-7 3rd Quarter which helped them gain control of the Semi-Final against 5A Mauldin. He stepped up his defensive intensity in the second half, which resulted in key stops and then some easy transition looks. Lance did a great job of setting up the aforementioned Hager in the shooting pocket, and he racked up 6 assists to go with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
