Heading into their junior year, we have a lot of movement and new additions to this group. However, there will always be omissions and debates regarding placement among the rankings.
Here’s a look at part two of the forwards rankings, looking at some of the best power forwards and centers in the rankings.
15) Braden Norris Braden Norris 6'6" | C Westfield | 2025 State VA | 6’6” PF | Westfield (#52 Overall)
Norris makes his debut in the rankings as he is part of a young and talented Westfield team that should be a tough out this year, and his presence in the paint will be a big reason for that. He has great touch with both hands around the rim, he’s a good defender both protecting the rim and getting deflections and he has great fundamentals as a rebounder too.
14) Eann Pennix Eann Pennix 6'4" | PF South County | 2025 State VA | 6’4” PF | South County (#50 Overall)
Pennix will be one of the most productive forwards in NOVA public schools, as he has a mix of skill to go along with his high motor that makes him an impact on both ends of the floor. He gets after it on both ends and makes the hustle plays winning 50-50 balls, he controls the glass and is a good defender and he finishes well both around the rim and in the midrange.
13) Levi Hamilton Levi Hamilton 6'8" | C Jefferson Forest | 2025 State VA | 6’8” C | Hargrave (#45 Overall)
Hamilton transferred to Hargrave this summer from Jefferson Forest, and had a good showing with them during the live periods as he showed his good potential moving forward as a collegiate prospect. The 6’8” big man has a wide body and knows how to clear out space in the paint, he has good hands and feet to catch tough passes and finish and he shows good vision as a passer as well.
12) Xavier Wilson Xavier Wilson 6'5" | C Colonial Forge | 2025 State VA | 6’6” C | Colonial Forge (#39 Overall)
Wilson has steadily improved over the past few years for Forge, and this looks like it could be his breakout season this year. The 6’6” big man continues to grow and has great length that allows him to rebound and protect the rim defensively, he can run the floor with his guards for opportunities in transition, he has good touch and he’s willing to do the dirty work to help his team.
11) Jacob Moore Jacob Moore 6'8" | PF St. Paul VI Catholic (PVI) | 2025 State VA | 6’7” PF | Paul VI (#33 Overall)
Moore may get overshadowed on this PVI team with 5 seniors signed to high major schools, but he’s one to keep an eye on with his blend of size, skill and athleticism that is hard to ignore. At 6’7” Moore is a walking mismatch who can handle on the perimeter and is an excellent passer, he can make shots off the bounce in the midrange, he’s an athletic finisher above the rim and he can guards multiple positions as well.
10) David Miller David Miller 6'6" | PF Green Run | 2025 State VA | 6’7” PF | Green Run (#32 Overall)
Miller has been a starter and a go-to guy for Green Run since he was a freshman, and his versatility coupled with his size makes him one of the toughest bigs in the 757 to matchup with. He has an inside-out game as he can put it on the deck and make shots off the catch from deep, he can bully smaller defenders in the paint, he’s getting in better shape and becoming more explosive as a finisher and he knows how to use his body to box out and rebound as well.
9) Steve Huan Steve Huan 6'10" | C Bishop O'Connell | 2025 State VA | 6’10” C | Bishop O’Connell (#29 Overall)
Huan is somewhat of an enigma for this talented O’Connell team, but there’s no doubt you can see the potential in the Chinese native with his size and base skillset that he owns already. Standing 6’10” with a good frame just his presence makes an impact on the defensive end of the floor, he has good hands and feet in the paint to catch and make moves in the post, he plays hard on both ends of the floor and when he gets used to the game over here and continues to polish he could be a very good prospect moving forward.
8) Wyatt Norton Wyatt Norton 6'8" | C Bishop O'Connell | 2025 State VA | 6’8” C | Bishop O’Connell (#26 Overall)
Norton broke onto the scene last year at James Madison High School before transferring to O’Connell this summer where he showed his big time potential in the live periods and will be a very good player for them this year. The 6’8” big man is a mix of new and old school as he is athletic and gets up and down the floor well, he has good ball skills on the perimeter with the ability to knock down shots and put it on the deck and he can muscle up in the paint to challenge shots and rebound as well.
7) Elijah Flowers Elijah Flowers 6'8" | PF Potomac School | 2025 State VA | 6’7” PF | Potomac School (#21 Overall)
Flowers reclassified to the 2025 class, and it makes him one of the most versatile players in the class and a player D1 coaches should get familiar with. Flowers is a walking mismatch as a new age big man, as he has great ball skills on the perimeter and thrives in transition with his speed and athleticism. He can handle in transition and can get downhill in the half court, he’s an athletic finisher at the rim and he has improved his consistency on his perimeter jumper too.
6) Josh Hamilton Josh Hamilton 6'8" | PF Highland | 2025 State VA | 6’8” PF | Highland (#20 Overall)
Hamilton was put this high on the list based on his potential, as he is still raw but has a lot of natural ability and a high ceiling as a two way impact big man. Right now he thrives on the defensive end as he’s a very good rim protector and can move his feet to switch defensively as well. He shows good explosion as a finisher when he gets it in the paint, he has good hands to catch tough passes, he’s a good rebounder and he is able to get up and down in transition with the guards.
