With the summer coming to an end, we decided to take a look at some of the top underrated players that college coaches should be watching for heading into the season. Here's a look at six guards in the Southern/Central/Western areas that aren't getting the love that they deserve from coaches.

Yajee Hairston | 5'10” PG | Roanoke Catholic

Hairston played a big role in Roanoke Catholic making a run to the VISAA D-III Final Four, and the 5'10” guard brings a lot of winning traits that many teams would like. He's a two way guard that can use his athleticism to shoot passing lanes and slide his feet to stay in front, he gets downhill aggressively and finishes well through contact, he is dynamite in transition with his end-to-end speed, and he can make others on his team better as well.

Amare Long | 6'0” PG | Miller School

Long has quietly been an x-factor for Miller School in their last two VISAA D-II state championships, and he is a great prospect for coaches to watch because he impacts winning without having to be the main guy. He handles pressure well and consistently makes the right read and play, he can stretch the defense when he's off the ball with his ability to knock down shots, he's very strong when he gets in the lane to play through contact, and he is big time on the defensive end as he can keep players in front and also is a great help side defender too.

Jaden Amoah | 5'10” PG | Colgan

Amoah has steadily gotten better and better every season for Colgan, and he is currently having a big time summer with Higher Level as well. The 5'10” lead guard has cat like quickness with a wicked first step to get by defenders, he is shifty off the bounce and changes speeds well, he knocks down shots from deep and has a good floater in the middle area, and he is constantly making his teammates better as well.

Bobby Entsminger | 6'0” PG | Alleghany

Entsminger was a breakout player for Alleghany this year, earning All District honors and leading the team in scoring. He's one of the better shooters you will find anywhere as he is consistent from deep off the catch and off the bounce, he has in the gym range and a lot of confidence to let it fly, he can attack closeouts and make plays for others, and once he gets it going it's going to be a long night for the opposition.

Chase Williams | 5'11” PG | Eastside

Williams had a big season for Eastside, but he really stepped it up when the playoffs came around as he put up huge numbers for them, and if he continues to improve he may be able to take them over the hump next year. The 5'11” guard is deadly from deep both off the catch and off the bounce, he moves well off the ball and sets his feet quickly to make shots on the move, he has range well beyond the college line, and he brings some grit to him in the way he attacks and plays through contact.

Gavin Dellinger | 6'0” PG | Strasburg

Dellinger was a breakout performer last year in the Harrisonburg area, emerging as one of the better shooters and scorers who got better and better throughout the season. The 6'0” lead guard was lights out all season for them from beyond the arc, he showed good range and a quick release from deep, he can rip and get to spots off the catch, and he is an unselfish playmaker as well.

With the summer coming to an end, we decided to take a look at some of the top underrated players that college coaches should be watching for heading into the season. Here's a look at six guards in the Southern/Central/Western areas that aren't getting the love that they deserve from coaches.
