He finished the game with 26 points (8 3PM) and it would have been 29 if not for an officiating error on his 3rd quarter buzzer-beater. In addition to the scoring outburst, Lindsey tallied 10 assists to make it a double-double. While some college coaches may have questions about his size, Lindsey’s quick release and footwork on the three-point line will certainly help his game translate to the next level while his sneaky bounce helps make up for the lack of height too.
Riverwood gave Newton a good run for their money and while they came up short in the end, JR Leonard often looked like the most dangerous scorer on the floor. He led Riverwood with 22 and kept them in it for most of the game as Newton bottled up Karris Bilal Karris Bilal 6’2″ | PG Riverwood | 2024 State #243 Nation GA pretty well. Leonard’s scoring package is so well-versed but it was the jumper that provided most of his points on Saturday. He connected on multiple three-pointers and a couple of pull-up jumpers as well. Look out for Riverwood’s backcourt this year as they have the firepower to hang with some of the state’s best.

After starting the year 0-2, Woodward bounced back with a huge win over #8 Holy Innocents on Saturday. The contributions came from all over but Payton Waites Payton Waites 6’4″ | CG Woodward Aacdemy | 2025 GA shined in his role. Waites closed the door on Holy Innocents by putting up 11 points in the 4th, 9 of which came from beyond the arc. His defense was also a major factor, 5 steals in the game. While Woodward has other talented guards in the backcourt, Waites can certainly help them win games from his 3 & D role and that’s what we saw on Saturday.
Despite falling just short at the end, Sandy Creek put forth a terrific showing on Saturday and couldn’t have asked much more from Amari Brown Amari Brown 6’3″ | PG Sandy Creek | 2024 State GA . Whenever Sandy Creek needed a bucket late, the ball was in Brown’s hands and he answered the call nearly every time. He finished with 20 points to lead all scorers while dishing a handful of assists in the process. If anyone is still questioning Brown’s ability to play at the D1 level, Saturday’s game provided the answer.

Jacobi Robinson Jacobi Robinson 6’1″ | SG Sandy Creek | 2025 State GA was a major reason that Sandy Creek took Grayson to the final buzzer, scoring an efficient 15 points. Robinson hit some huge shots in the 2nd half and made Grayson pay for the lack of attention he was getting. Robinson will be a fun one to track as he’ll play a vital role for Sandy Creek again this year and eventually step into the spotlight next year with a ton of experience under his belt.
