Coach William Lopresti, director of Southeastern Basketball, hosted the 23rd annual Atlanta All-Star Shootout this weekend, providing an opportunity for underrecruited prospects to compete in front of college coaches and showcase their abilities. Players from across the state came together with the goal of making an impression and turning some college coaches' heads. With plenty of talent on display, here are some of the top stock risers from this year's event.

Nazario has been one of the players catching my eye early this fall and continues to make his presence felt every time he steps on the floor. At Sandy's Spiel Fall League, he has carried the offensive load while emerging as a leader for his Furtah Prep squad, helping them pick up impressive wins over Centennial, Chattahoochee, and Milton. Perez is a big-bodied wing who can push the pace in transition and consistently find ways to score around the cup, using his strength and physicality to bump defenders out of position. He does a great job playing through contact and creating opportunities for three-point plays, while also getting himself to the free-throw line for easy scoring opportunities. His ability to use his frame, attack the basket, and shoulder a significant offensive load made him a tough matchup throughout the the day. Nazario is a true gamer who has shown a knack for making winning plays and should be watched closely this season as he continues to mold and polish his overall skill set.

Davis has a solid offensive skill set and a high motor that revolves around his ability to knock down the three-ball. The wing has a long frame and quick hands, allowing him to get his shot off in a hurry and completely change the scoring pace for whichever team he suits up for. He consistently moves without the ball, making smart cuts and spacing decisions to create open looks for himself around the perimeter. One of the most impressive attributes of his game is his short memory when shots aren't falling and the next play mentality he brings to the floor. Rather than letting a missed shot affect him, Davis immediately impacts the game on the defensive end, battling for rebounds, communicating, and making the extra effort play. His willingness to contribute in multiple areas gives him an all-around mature game that should make him highly effective for years to come at The King's Academy.

Strech is a productive scorer from beyond the arc who oozes confidence every time he steps on the floor. His picture-perfect shooting form and elite movement without the ball make him a constant threat and someone opposing teams have to account for at all times. He has made a significant jump in both his dribble-drive game and defensive skill set, adding more versatility to an already dangerous offensive weapon. Throughout the event, Strech consistently created for others off the dribble, playing off two around the rim and finding teammates for easy scoring opportunities. When looking for his own shot, he shows a crafty finishing package that allows him to change angles and throw off the timing of shot blockers. Defensively, his constant effort and physicality have helped him stand out as a player who is not just serviceable on that end, but highly effective. He rebounded at a high level, blocked shots, and consistently made his presence felt with his activity. Strech's combination of shooting, improved playmaking, and defensive impact makes him an intriguing all-around prospect with plenty of room to continue rising.

Byrd competes at a high level and has gamer written all over him. He can score efficiently in his own right, consistently getting downhill and finishing through traffic while changing angles and using quick extensions to stretch around shot blockers. Throughout the day, Byrd battled on the defensive end and showed his willingness to make winning plays in a variety of ways. Offensively, he did a nice job creating paint touches and kicking out to shooters while also moving well without the ball and finding easy scoring opportunities on cuts to the rim. His combination of toughness, effort, and ability to impact the game without needing the ball in his hands makes him a valuable piece. Byrd looks set for a big senior year and is a player worth keeping a close eye on moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='3761877' first='Kelstin' last='Grimes'] had his coming-out party on Saturday, putting together a performance that should have plenty of people taking notice of his potential. Grimes is a slithery finisher around the basket. With his long and athletic build, he does a great job changing angles and finding different ways to finish around the cup, making him a tough matchup once he gets downhill. His length allows him to play bigger than his position and gives him added versatility on both ends of the floor. Defensively, Grimes has the tools to guard multiple positions, using his length and athleticism to make life difficult for opposing players. What makes his performance even more intriguing is that he is only a sophomore, giving him plenty of time to continue developing his overall skill set, adding strength, and becoming more polished offensively. If he continues to progress at this rate, Grimes has the potential to become a highly effective two-way prospect and a name to keep a close eye on in the 2029 class.

Free is a name I have gotten quite familiar with this fall, and heading into Saturday's event, I was excited to get the opportunity to sit down and watch him compete again. The 2027 guard got loose early from deep, burying three after three during the half-court scrimmages in the early morning before staying hot throughout the rest of the day. His confidence was off the charts, as he consistently caught the ball ready to shoot and showed no hesitation attacking hard closeouts to get to the rim. Free's ability to knock down shots with confidence while also putting the ball on the deck gives him multiple ways to keep defenses on their heels. He is one of the more underrated 2027 point guard prospects in the state and has continued to show that his impact goes well beyond his stature. With his shooting ability, confidence, and willingness to attack, Free has the skill set to be a very effective piece for a college program come this time next year.
