SWFL is loaded with talent this year and I will be splitting up these prospects into 4 select groups; post players, guards, shooters, and wings. In this, the last piece of this series, I will focus on the wings. These 6 prospects are all super athletic with impressive skill sets, and are just fun to watch with their explosiveness and jumping ability.
Calven Charles
Calven Charles
Charles is a talented prospect who does it all for his Palmetto Ridge squad. The 6’4″ CG is a freak athletically which allows him to guard any position and he’s also an elite shot-blocker with how quick he gets off the floor. He is a tremendous rebounder on both ends of the court and looks to push the ball where he’s great in transition. He likes to attack the basket and play above the rim, but also has a very solid mid-range game. Charles is a flashy 2-way player who is guaranteed for at least a couple highlights each night on both ends of the floor.
This 6’6″ SF is an absolute gym rat, whether he’s honing skills on the court or pushing himself in the weight room, Cornish is always looking to take himself and his game to new levels. He runs the the floor extremely well and likes to attack the rim, where he’s very good at finishing with contact. He has an explosive first step which he’ll beat you off the dribble with, but has also developed a solid outside game to keep his opponent honest. Cornish is a true scorer but is also an elite rebounder, who can guard multiple positions and create offense from defense.
Lambert, a dual-sport athlete, is aggressive and plays the game with a chip on his shoulder. The sophomore prospect is a well rounded player who is an asset on both ends of the floor. He’s an emotional player who rebounds the ball well and won’t back down from any assignment on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively, Lambert likes to attack the basket and finish above the rim, but has the ability to score from outside also. He’s an above-average passer and will be a major contributor for the Pirates this season.
Jaden Wolner
Jaden Wolner
Wolner is the heart and soul for his Naples squad. He just notched a 28 pt./8 rebound, and 45 pt./7 rebound effort in his first 2 preseason games this year. The 6’4″ senior is a true 3-level scorer, he has the ability to take you down low where he’s efficient in the post, or able to step out beyond the perimeter where he shoots the 3-ball at a high rate. He has a strong frame and is a great all around rebounder and defender. Wolner will look to keep the hot hand as he heads into the regular season, where his Golden Eagles open up against the Village School of Naples on 11/24.
Jayden Jones
Jayden Jones
The 6’4″ Strong bodied forward will be a huge piece in Cypress Lake’s success this season. Jones does a little bit of everything for the Panthers, but really excels on the glass and attacking the basket. The junior scored 20 pts in a preseason victory over East Lee last week and put in another 11 pt outing against North Fort Myers. Jones can score in bunches with his ability to drive the hole and his above-average shooting from behind the arc. He plays the game extremely hard and doesn’t back down from anything when he steps on the court.
Brady Knutson
Brady Knutson
Knutson can flat out jump through the roof. He has a tremendous first step and and explosive bounce off the floor. He’s an above-average rebounder and looks to jump the passing lanes to get out and run. Offensively he likes to attack the rim, but also has the ability to knock down the 3-ball consistently to go with a very solid mid-range game. He is very difficult to block, where he creates space on his jumper by elevating over the defense and shooting at a high point. Knutson looks to take his game to another level this year, after averaging 17 ppg in 2022-23.
