Matt LaSalle | Prep Hoops Scout
The 6’4″ senior is one of the most athletic players in the area, not too mention one of the most hardworking. If Cornish isn’t putting up shots or fine tuning his skills on the court, you can find him in the gym trying to become a stronger more all-around player. Cornish is a tremendous rebounder on both ends of the floor, and likes to push the ball and get out and run in transition. He’s a great two-way player who excels using his speed and athleticism, and you better slow him down, because if not he is extremely difficult to stop. Both Cornish and his teammates hope to a make push deep into the postseason, after facing one of the toughest regular season schedules in the area.

Cornish, one of the areas top prospects, is off to another hot start. Averaging 15.5 ppg, 12.5 rpg, and 2.5 blocks per game, he has been taking care of business on both ends of the floor and helping lead his Tarpons to a 3-1 record. The 6’6″ SF never takes a play off and can beat you in a number of ways. He has an explosive first step and is quick off the floor, where he likes to attack the basket and play above the rim. Cornish can absorb the contact in the paint and finish with both hands consistently. He is a smart player with excellent speed who plays great transition basketball. Cornish has put up video game-like numbers to lead Charlotte to a 3-0 start with a big-time matchup with Port Charlotte up next. Cornish has done nothing but raise his stock with consistent performances since the AAU session. A high-motor team player who can score off pure athleticism and physicality. Still growing and could put on more size while keeping his explosive demeanor. Finishes everything strong around the rim and always looking to cut to the basket.

, A 6-4 senior wing is at his best when he is finishing on the attack as he is solid around the rim. He is an active rebounder on both ends of the floor where he is strong when he has the basketball in his hands. Cornish has continued to evolve his game around the rim where he is unafraid to draw contact and get to the free throw line. In order for his game to get to the next level, he will have to develop a more consistent shot from beyond the arc. Cornish currently holds an offer from Manhattan College.
