Continue ReadingThe NSC has a great balance of grit and glamor, filled with Division 1 prospects and competitive multi-sport athletes. Made up of; Grafton, West Bend East, Homestead, Nicolet, Cedarburg, Whitefish Bay, West Bend West, Slinger, Port Washington, and Hartford. You can look forward to tight games from top to bottom and no team is exempt from being upset.
The reigning Homestead Highlanders are coming off of back-to-back Conference Championships and will look to continue their tradition this winter. Losing the conference player of the year in Solomon Garrison, the battle-tested team still has a chance to repeat the title. Nicolet is certainly the next-best team to take the title from Homestead as they have most of their depth and talent returning. Below is my list of top returning players competing in the North Shore Conference.
Micheal McNabb | G | 2024 | Grafton
McNabb is heading into the final season of his standout career at Grafton. The highly skilled lefty is a two-time all-conference honoree and will look to complete his career just the same. Averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds a game, the Northern Michigan commit led his team to a hard-fought finish in the North Shore Conference, tying with Whitefish Bay in the 6th spot. McNabb’s biggest game came via a non-conference matchup with a gritty and deep Dominican team where he scored 17 and 10. Expect to see next-level leadership and competitiveness from the steady wing in the coming season.
Davion Hannah Davion Hannah 6'5" | SF Nicolet | 2025 State #33 Nation WI | G | 2025 | Nicolet
Hannah is a highly decorated Junior at Nicolet who has already seen the bright lights of the State Tournament two times. He’s versatile with his skillset and athletic ability. One of his most recent stand-out games came via a 24-point and 14-rebound outing against DePere at the State Tournament. Not only can he protect the rim but he has proven to space the floor with his playmaking and scoring prowess. The 2025 prospect earned first-team all-conference honors this past season as a sophomore. The highly recruited wing has offers from LSU, Michigan State, Marquette, and many others.
David Holden | G | 2025 | Nicolet
Holden is a 2025 prospect who is coming off a strong summer stint with Power 5. He made some noise on the Adidas 3SSB circuit and will look to carry over that momentum heading into the high school season. A reliable floor setter and crafty scorer, Holden looks to get the best shot for himself or his teammates each time down. One of his biggest performances last season was 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists against Port Washington. Keep an eye out for arguably one of the best under-the-radar prospects in the state of WI. Ending the year with a third-team all-conference selection, expect to hear more about the rising prospect.
Trevor Polite Trevor Polite 6'6" | SF Homestead | 2025 State WI | G | 2025 | Homestead
Polite is likely to have a breakout Junior year for the reigning North Shore champions. He was a major contributor on their run to a conference championship and is a top returner. Averaging 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, look for Polite to take a major leap as an upperclassman. The third-team all-conference wing is coming off a hot summer and has intentions of putting everyone on notice. A highlighted game for the 2025 prospect would be his 29-point and 5-rebound performance against Whitefish Bay. Finishing with third-team all-conference honors, keep an eye out for him to improve as his responsibilities expand.
Juan Hernandez | G | 2025 | Grafton
Hernandez is one of the top prospects in the conference and the state of WI. He averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. The do-it-all guard has gained interest from major division one programs such as UW-Milwaukee and Mississippi State. Hernandez has uber athleticism and scoring ability, expect him to gain more and more interest with two seasons left in his high school career. His top performance came against a gritty Dominican team, scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds, and 11 assists. The second-team all-conference guard will look to continue his success at the helm for Grafton.
Tim Franks Tim Franks 6'5" | SG Homestead | 2024 State WI | G | 2024 | Homestead
Franks is one of the best shooters in the state and a major contributor to Homestead’s success the past two seasons. The silky smooth wing plays with great pace and IQ, he has a quick trigger and high-ranging shooting motion that makes shot-making look effortless. Averaging 15 points and 6 rebounds last season, you can expect these numbers to improve as the sole floor leader going into his final season. Earning second-team all-conference honors his junior season, you can expect him to leap to the first team this coming winter. The 2024 prospect has gained interest from many Division 1 programs but has committed to St.Thomas (MN).
Rashad Davis | G | 2026 | Nicolet
Davis is a top player in his class and has gained a lot of experience after his first season on a talented roster. The 2026 guard has a tight handle and is shifty in space. Averaging 10 points per game, he has added an exciting dynamic to this team in his freshman season. Shooting 34% from beyond the arc last season, we can expect him to level up as his confidence grows. His most memorable performance came against the reigning conference champs, where he tallied 22 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
