<p>I watched 7 teams play during the first three days of a shortened holiday week. Here are 9 new names who emerged on my radar during my time in the gym. </p>

<p>Bolding is a promising lead guard prospect who looks like he will be a foundational player for Coach Malcolm Battle at Carroll. He looks physically ready to compete in the WCAC from day one. Bolding is a speedster who bursts with the ball. He rebounds well, pushes the ball quickly in transition, and demonstrates good court vision. Bolding is confident with his handle, plays off two feet, uses floaters, and can finish in the lane with a soft touch over tall defenders. His on-ball defense is tenacious and he reacts quickly from the help side. </p>

<p>Byrd is a broad-shouldered and long-limbed guard who has an efficient shooting stroke. He is shot-ready upon the catch and always holds his follow-through. Byrd is a smart cutter who can finish in traffic and will attack the offensive boards. </p>

<p>Gray is a lefty guard who looks like he will be a game-changer on both sides of the ball for the Colts. He applies good pressure on the ball in the backcourt. Gray is a threat from three who can attack closeouts and slash to the cup or get to his spots from the in-between areas.</p>

<p>Marshall is a newcomer to the area who projects to start at the five for the Panthers this winter. He is an outstanding athlete who blocks shots, gets steals, can grab and go in transition, and is impressive as a finisher who embraces contact. </p>

<p>Murphy is a lefty guard who is a solid defender both on and off the ball. He is alert on the help side and will draw a charge from time to time. Murphy is vigilant in ball denial but also takes pride in pressuring the ball at the point of attack. Murphy is a good shooter who knows how to get open. He's also a crafty finisher in the lane.</p>

<p>Turner is an athletic guard who is a capable scorer from all three levels. He is a solid defensive rebounder who can grab and go on the break. Turner can create space in numerous ways and pull up on a dime from mid-range. He loves to score in transition and is aggressive in hunting paint touches.</p>

<p>Wade has a chance to be a forceful paint presence for the Lions throughout his senior campaign. He is effective as a rim protector and can rebound in traffic. Wade has a go-to jump hook on offense and is a sneaky-good ball distributor. </p>

<p>Womack is a rangy 6'4" guard who has long arms and keeps his hands active on defense, where he is very vigilant. Womack has incredible awareness and is a good communicator. He plays with toughness, will dive on the floor, knows how to rotate defensively, and blocks shots. Womack is an above-the-rim finisher. His passing is one of his better skills. Womack uses ball fakes well, looks to be in great shape early in the season, and attacks the offensive glass relentlessly.</p>
