<p>Myers Park High got their first victory on the year in a tough battle against JL Chambers High in a game that came down to the wire. The Mustangs overcame a double-double from [player_tooltip player_id='1076352' first='Maurio' last='Hanson'] (12 pts, 14 rebs) and a combined 28 points from [player_tooltip player_id='2023905' first='Tarris' last='Bouie'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1682357' first='Markus' last='Kerr'] to squeeze out a 63-61 victory. [player_tooltip player_id='1076350' first='Bishop' last='Boswell'] led the way with 24 points with [player_tooltip player_id='1225669' first='Sadiq' last='White Jr'] right behind him with 20 points. </p>

Moye led the way with 21 points (8-14 FG) while sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2055671' first='Ben' last='Houpt'] finished with 10 points and six rebounds. They're a well-rounded group who should make some noise this season. </p>

James looks ready to turn a corner heading into his junior season after starting last season as a sophomore.</p>

He's averaging 24.0 PPG, 4.0 APG, 3.0 RPG and 2.0 SPG through three games so far for the Tigers as they're out to a 2-1 start on the young season with a loss to Davidson Day School in the NCISAA. He's slowly becoming a name to track as he emerges as a name for DII and DIII programs in the area to get to know. </p>

He's an efficient scorer who is really lethal when he gets going and should be key to the Catamounts success in 2023-24.</p>
