With as many talented players in the state this season, it is important that we give you a list of names to keep an eye on for the season, which is what I will be doing with each position in the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes. The point of my list is to give you a preview of some the players that are maybe overlooked a little, still on the college recruiting board, or guys in general that deserve to have eyes on them. With that said, here are small forwards to watch for in the 2025 class this season.
This 6’8 wing is the best player in the state you probably haven’t seen much of. With not getting much varsity time in his first two seasons, Koehler has been a hidden gem for Cathedral and is already hitting a stock-rise before his junior season. He is a versatile wing a smooth left-handed stroke from beyond the arc he has the physical tools and skills that will translate to a high-level in college. He comes into this season with tons of D1 offers from coaches already capitalizing on his potential. There will be more offers on the way this season for Koehler.
Highlights
Townsend is one of the more interesting prospects we have in the in-state 2025 class that I feel does not get talked about enough. At 6’6, he handles the ball like a point guard but has the strength and physicality of a forward. When it comes to playing off the dribble, he is so hard to stop with his strength and explosiveness. Defensively, he has the ability to guard nearly every spot on the floor and do it well. He brings at least 19.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game last season back for Marion. A big season could get more D1 offers as well.
The son of former Indiana Hoosiers center Todd Lindeman is starting to make a name for himself in the in-state 2025 class. At a near 6’5, Luke Linderman is a 2025 wing that has major upside and one that could be one of the top scoring wings in the state. With 4 of Bloomington North’s top five scorers all gone, that makes a clear path for Linderman to be the leading scorer for the Cougars this season. Last season, he shot 50% from the field and 39.3% from the three which led him to averaging 11.7 ppg as a sophomore. He is a highly skilled wing with excellent size on the perimeter, athletically fluid, great pace both on and off the ball and has a real knockdown jumper from 15ft and out.

Sloss is one of the more underrated wings that I am extremely high on as far as potential breakout player in the state. He is coming off a big summer with Team Teague and has transferred to Brownsburg for his junior season coming from Evansville Harrison. The long, athletic, 6’5″ wing has high-level two-way upside. He is a versatile defender that can hold his own on the perimeter and has the length to be disruptive around the basket. For his size, can make plays on the ball and get to the basket through contact. Lot of potential and playing in a great system that Brownsburg has, it should help unlock it.
