Brady looked good in Orono’s game versus Wayzata, matching up with the number one player in the state. He looks much more comfortable and confident with the ball in his hands compared to last year, serving as the first scoring option for his team. He did all of his scoring around the rim, being able to push the ball in transition and get around defenders in the half court. The 2025 forward also threw down a fast break alley-oop thrown off the backboard, showing off his improved athleticism. Wooley looks like he has made the jump as an elite prospect and will be fun to watch this upcoming season.
Highlights
Dothan continues to impress headed into his sophomore season and was the first option on a shorthanded Totino-Grace team this past weekend. He looked really good getting to his spots and pulling up, whether it was from beyond the arc or in the mid-range. He connected with some super difficult fadeaway looks with a hand in his face. He was also getting to the rim, throwing down a dunk in space and converting on some acrobatic layups through traffic. Ijdaimbola had at least 25 points in the matchup with Lakeville North.
DeAngelo really impressed me this past weekend, as I was not very familiar with his game. He stepped up when Breck’s number one scoring option went down in the matchup with Wayzata, on his way to a double-digit scoring performance. He was scoring in a couple different ways, being a threat from both inside and outside. He connected with a catch-and-shoot three in the corner and was also converting on finishes at the rim in transition. This Breck roster is loaded with talent, but Dungey looks like he will hold his own at the varsity level this season.

Hanif had a very successful club season this past spring and summer and he looks to be carrying that right into the winter. He is such a gifted scorer, as he can create a look for himself from anywhere on the floor. He really showed off his speed and quickness in the matchup with Wayzata, outrunning defenders in transition or making one move to blow by whoever is in front of him for a finish at the rim. I saw him pickpocket an opposing ball handler, then ran full speed down the floor for a tough finish at the other end. Muhammed is electric with the ball in his hands.
Highlights
Totino-Grace was down a couple guys this past weekend, allowing players like Jaylan to see more opportunities which he took full advantage of. He did all of his scoring around the rim as the freshman wing already looks ready to take on contact at the varsity level. He was fantastic on the offensive boards, being able to clean up teammate’s misses for putback baskets. He was also getting after it on the defensive end, applying pressure to force turnovers which resulted in easy baskets on the other end. Totino-Grace has a loaded roster and I am excited to see how the minutes and touches will be distributed.
Riley is going to be a key piece for an Orono team that looks ready to get back to the state tournament. He brings a lot to the table, being able to make a difference on both sides of the ball. He is able to score from all three levels and can handle the ball when asked upon. He looked really explosive this past weekend, gliding to the rim and absorbing contact from opponents for finishes or fouls drawn. He can also add value on the defensive end, being able to apply on-ball pressure. Nelson and the Spartans will enter the season as one of the top teams in class 3A once again.

JP was making plays all over the floor and looks ready to be a difference maker during his sophomore season. His calling card is the combination of his size and athleticism, allowing him to make big time plays above the rim. I saw him throw down some dunks in space and can also defend multiple different positions. He was also impressive creating off the dribble, knocking down a pull-up triple and a contested fadeaway jumper in the mid-range. Musoke has loads of potential and can make an impact with or without the ball in his hands.
