Saturday, October 21st I attended the 25th anniversary of the Arizona Preps Fall Showcase.

It was in HS team format and I watched 15+ different teams and saw many top players.

Here were some of the top standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id='1612468' first='Cameron' last='Williams'] St Mary's

A long power forward was rebounding in and out his area and blocking shots at a high clip. He kind of had that coming out party. He scored on put backs, mid-range jumpers, runners and dunking it. His ability to defend in space then be a top notch shot blocker at his size and length separates him from most. He can fall away from the high post.

[player_tooltip player_id='1449361' first='Caspian' last='Jones'] St. Mary's

A strong forward easily scores thru contact with some tough buckets. He can dunk it in traffic and is a three level scorer. He had the best poster dunk of the day that turned some heads. His mid-range jumper off the dribble is very difficult to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='994006' first='Styles' last='Phipps'] St. Mary's

The Grand Canyon commit was scoring from all levels. His polished pull-up game was on and he clearly put on more muscle for the upcoming AIA season. He is also playing more aggressively on defense, ripping some pockets and made a few incredible passes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1297427' first='AJ' last='Thomas'] Eduprize

One of the top point guards of the prep world put on a show per usual. He is an above the rim athlete and found his teammates in stride. His three point stroke is coming around. He also had some clutch moments with his shooting and he has a next level college euro move with speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1231502' first='Bryce' last='Anderson'] Phoenix Christian (Pictured)

A long forward jumps out of the building. He is talking more on defense becoming more of a leader. He moves his feet well to defend guards and wings. He can create his own offense off the dribble from mid to the three. His ability to dribble operate thru defenses with his size and length make him a tough cover. He is starting to figure it out and the team can play through him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1876010' first='Dayton' last='Foster'] ALA West Foothills

A smaller point guard has the ball on a string for him. He can get into small spaces with his burst. It is hard to stay in front of him off the dribble. He will drive and kick it to an open shooter. He uses the pick and roll game well and makes passes with either hand in stride. He is a step quicker then almost anyone in the state. He is also one of the better passers and makes threes with range. He picked up an offer from Benedictine-Mesa.

[player_tooltip player_id='1306025' first='Mason' last='Hunt'] Bradshaw Mountain

A sturdy framed scoring guard handles a lot of the point guard duties. He can catch and shoot from the three point line and fall away in the post. He can also hit shots off the dribble, post up and go to work. He is a very good passer and gets high elevation on his mid-range jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1425099' first='Kaleel' last='Kelly'] Willow Canyon

A pure point guard has a shifty handle with a strong upper body, He is a phenomenal passer with up the court passes on a rope, basic bounce passes in stride, slip passes and drive and kicks. He makes his teammates better and can score. He will get downhill and using his powerfully built frame.
