Offers: Cal Poly

In a loaded 2025 class, Myles Herro Myles Herro 6’2″ | PG Whitnall | 2025 State #237 Nation WI has worked his way up to the #1 point guard spot. His feel and processing are near the top of the class, if not the best. He had a big offseason in which he earned his first scholarship offer from Cal Poly. He spent the summer training with his older brother, Tyler Herro, and well respected NBA trainer, Drew Hanlen. This should help Herro make the leap as a scorer. In fall, he’s looked more comfortable getting to his spots in the mid-range and shooting off the dribble. Mix that with his ability to freeze defenders, beat double teams with his handle, and passing creativity and you have an intriguing playmaking ball handler. Teams will game plan for Herro this year, so it’ll be interesting to monitor how he responds. Whitnall needs a big junior year from him.
Offers: Cal Poly and SIU Edwardsville
Watchlist: Iowa, Northwestern, Dayton, Belmont, Liberty, South Dakota, North Dakota State, Illinois State, Missouri State, and UW Green-Bay
A.J. Bender was a contributor for Lake Mills the minute he stepped on campus as a freshman. Now, he’s blossomed into a college prospect that has already earned the respect and interest of mid-majors and has high-majors looming in the distance. He has some vertical pop to finish above the rim in transition and in the half court. His high arcing, left jumper starts above his head, similar to the mechanics of Joe Ingles, allowing Bender to get his shot off when closely contested. He has a deep bag of moves to create separation and can score in multiple ways. He likes to apply rim pressure, but can still make the right reads and play unselfish, marked by his 4.8 assists per game. He shoots the cover off the ball from deep, with range, but on a low volume (43.8% on 3.4 attempts per game). He’s a score first guard that played as a playmaking wing with the Wisconsin Playground Warriors this past summer. It’ll be interesting to monitor his off ball growth next summer, as well as his pick-and-roll play.
Offers: Bryant
Watchlist: UW-Milwaukee, Eastern Illinois, Belmont, and South Dakota State
Elijah Griffin broke out as a sophomore after not playing much his freshman year. He paced Westosha Central with 14.2 PPG and 7.2 APG last season, including a record breaking performance of 25 assists vs Kenosha Tremper. He’s one of the state’s top playmakers with the ball in his hands. In March, I mentioned that Griffin may pick up his first Division I offer this summer and he did exactly that, as Bryant is the early offer. More mid-majors will express interest in the true point this coming season. Griffin controls the game, pushing the pace in transition, but can also set things up in the half court. As a passer, he sets up cutting teammates, finds the roll man in the pick-and-roll, and can throw a variety of passes while looking off defenders. What he lacks in athleticism, he makes up in passing creativity. He had some struggles finishing at the rim with Team Herro, but shot well off ball knocking down 40% of catch-and-shoot triples (25 att).
Offers: Howard
Watchlist: Columbia, North Alabama, Cal Poly, Belmont, South Dakota, and North Dakota
One of the more under the radar college prospects. Johnson won’t jump out at you on the stat sheet or in the rankings, but he’s the Hilltoppers’ glue guy that can do a bit of everything, including the dirty work. He knows how to take a charge and is one of the better defensive prospects in the area. His length and defensive anticipation one pass away are encouraging given his age. Averaged 6.2 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 2.3 APG, and 2 SPG as a sophomore. The senior led Marquette squad will look to compete for the gold ball in Madison and will need Johnson to shoot well off ball. He had his struggles last year shooting 22.7% 3P (4.4 att). His senior year will be telling of his collegiate trajectory when the Hilltoppers lose lead guards Nolan Minessale Nolan Minessale 6’5″ | SF Marquette | 2024 State WI (St. Thomas commit) and T.J. Adams T.J. Adams 6’2″ | CG Marquette | 2024 State WI (La Crosse commit).
