Prep Hoops Florida is taking a look at the preseason all-state teams for the upcoming season. We have a lot of new faces in new places this season and are excited to tip-off next month. Here are the nominees for the Class 3A Player of the Year this season. Voting will end on Sunday, October 22.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1163620' first='Daniel' last='Delgardo'] III</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-1 senior combo guard plays with an aggressive edge on the offensive end, where he can often switch hands and finish on both sides of the rim at a high level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1660031' first='Evan' last='Roberts']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-0 sophomore point guard who is a solid finisher around the rim and isn't afraid to score through contact. Was named to the Sarasota Herald All-Area Selection Team as a freshman last season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1578259' first='Chris' last='Cornish']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-4 senior wing is at his best when he is finishing on the attack as he is solid around the rim. He is an active rebounder on both ends of the floor where he is strong when he has the basketball in his hands.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Calven Charles</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-4 senior guard who averaged nearly 13 points and 9 rebounds for Palmetto Ridge as a junior last season. Charles was also named to the Naples Daily News All-1st Team last season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1859283' first='Sam' last='Ritchie']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-1 senior guard who shows a ton of creativity and flashes on the offensive end. Ritchie is a perennial threat and can score from beyond the arc at a high level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1660055' first='Drake' last='Sandi']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-1 sophomore guard with strong pass-first instincts from the guard position as he is very creative when he has the basketball in his hands. Sandi has a strong IQ when it comes to his decision-making on whether to shoot versus pass the ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1055709' first='Zion' last='Mitchell']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-1 senior combo guard who transferred from Master's Academy to Edgewater over the summer. Mitchell is quick and athletic when moving with the basketball in his hands where he doesn't force many mistakes on the offensive end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2197825' first='Justin' last='Beall']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-5 senior combo forward who has a knack for finishing above the rim, as well as an above-average rebounder for his size. Beall averaged 9.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game as a junior last season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1306091' first='Jeremy' last='Elyzee']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-6 senior forward who plays with true length and is very active on both ends of the floor. His stock will continue to rise as he heads into the upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1379527' first='KJ' last='Smith']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-3 junior guard does a great job when he is running the offense and has a smooth feel for the game.
