Continue ReadingThe start of the 2023-24 season is a little over a month away and as fall leagues wrap up, the Class of 2025 rankings have been updated and released. A number of juniors made moves up on the list – these are the top stock risers for this rankings update.
Patrick Kilfoil Patrick Kilfoil 6'0" | PG Jesuit | 2025 State OR , Jesuit – +55 (from #84 to #29)
This update’s biggest rise belongs to Kilfoil, who was literally getting a bucket every time we saw him play this summer whether it was with Players Only 16U or at an elite camp. The 5-foot-11 lefty is dangerous knocking down threes from deep or pulling up in transition and his ascent will only continue as he proves himself at the varsity level at Jesuit.
Diggy Griffin Diggy Griffin 6'5" | SF Rosemary Anderson Prep | 2025 State OR , Rosemary Anderson Prep – +23 (from #31 to #8)
Moving into the Top Ten in a big way is Griffin, whose ascent started near the end of his sophomore season at Wells where the 6-foot-5 swingman showed that he was skilled with the basketball and capable of creating his own shot and finishing at the rim. After a strong spring and summer playing with Oregon Prospects and Dynasty, he made the decision to transfer to RA Prep and has already made an impression by being considered a D-I recruit.
Kevin Benson Kevin Benson 6'6" | PF West Linn | 2025 State OR , West Linn – +23 (from #80 to #57)
Looking to make an impact at the varsity level right away this season is Benson, whose 6-foot-5 length, length, athleticism, and ability to run the floor will earn him instant playing time up front. The junior’s ceiling is high as he continues to develop his ball skills and strength.
Brayden Barron Brayden Barron 6'6" | SF Barlow | 2025 State OR , Barlow – +12 (from #22 to #10)
Making the leap into consideration as a top ten and Division I prospect is Barron, who wowed many an observer this summer with his length, athleticism, and potential as a defender of multiple positions. The junior has grown to 6-foot-6 and was particularly impressive at the PrepHoops Top 250 Expo as he skied for dunks and blocked shots. Look for big things from him this season at Barlow.
Quincy Scott Quincy Scott 6'5" | SG Grant | 2025 State OR , Grant – +8 (from #34 to #26)
A transfer from Central Catholic, it wouldn’t be a surprise for us to see Scott as an impact starter from day one at Grant. The 6-foot-5 forward has a strong frame capable of adding more muscle and his motor on both ends of the floor allows him to be a force on the boards and on the defensive end. As his offensive skills continue to emerge, watch out.
Kyle Bittle Kyle Bittle 6'3" | PF Crater | 2025 State OR , Crater – +8 (from #51 to #43)
The younger brother of current Oregon Ducks post Ryan Bittle, the younger Bittle isn’t as tall but has some of the same qualities in terms of his ability to run the floor and make a difference inside as a shot blocker. We only got a chance to see Bittle a couple of times this fall but he instantly made an impression on us with his versatility and feel for the game.
Hudson Guthrie Hudson Guthrie 6'4" | SF Sunset | 2025 State OR , Sunset – +8 (from #75 to #67)
Emerging as Sunset’s third offensive option this summer and fall has been Guthrie, who has the size and length at 6-foot-4 to score inside but also the soft touch on his jumper to knock them down out past the three. His versatility offensively and willingness to help out with rebounding and defense will be critical for the Apollos this season.
Maverick Huynh Maverick Huynh 5'10" | PG North Salem | 2025 State OR , North Salem – +7 (from #82 to #75)
Look for Huynh to emerge as a leader in several ways this upcoming season at North Salem as he’ll take on an elevated role. The junior has a sweet stroke from the outside but having added some strength and athleticism to his game, will also be a threat off the dribble and making plays for himself and others going to the hoop.
