These players can do so many different things on the court for their teams and truly show how much of an impact these players have. Here are my top power forwards for the 2026 class.
Thompson is a terrific inside player on offense and will look to hang around the post/painted area to get his shots up. His long and tall 6’9″ size allows him to be a great finisher and rim protector. He has excellent footwork in the post going to his lethal post fadeaway. In the paint, it’s hard to contest or get a rebound over him because of his timing and quickness to get the ball up in a hurry. On defense, he will block any shot in his vicinity and moves extremely well laterally making him a defensive force.
Rampersant is a dominant inside player that loves to put a body on people when in the paint. He has a nice variety of moves he will go to in the post and rolls to the rim nicely off of pick-n-rolls. He sets hard screens creating space not only for him but for his teammates. Rampersant can move laterally to stand on his own in the paint against bigger players. He has great timing on when to contest shots at the perfect time.
Franz is a well-rounded methodical player who can stretch the floor while also controlling the inside game. He commands a lot of attention in the low post because of his 6’10” size. He has a nice post-hook shot he likes to go to most of the time as it is very effective for him. He can step out into the midrange and hit the open shot or he can step back behind the arc to drain a three. Franz is an excellent rim protector as his long wingspan just towers over everyone making it difficult to get a shot up and over him.
Teyan is a player who can be a team’s Swiss army knife with how versatile he is out there on the court. At 6’6″ he plays and guards centers while also being able to guard on the perimeter. He moves laterally very well allowing him to switch onto anyone. Teyan has great handles at his position that give him opportunities to exploit mismatches. His finishing ability around the rim is excellent as he likes to seek contact to force the referees to blow the whistle.
Gomez is a very talented player at 6’5″ that can do almost everything for his team. He can put the ball on the floor and can use his tight handles to get by smaller players guarding him on the perimeter. Gomez can turn into that hybrid role as he can dominate the inside and outside game. He can shoot three-pointers at a consistent rate and has a soft touch around the rim with both hands. When it comes to rebounding he will always look to crash the glass, especially against taller players thinking they have an easy board until Gomez flies in out of nowhere.
