4AA Breakdown
It was 2013 when Minnehaha Academy won a state title after being not being ranked either most of the season or all of the season. They didn’t have stars as much as they had depth, toughness, and team basketball players. Last year the Redhawks were a good team of talent but not considered among the top couple teams. They then upset Holy Family and made the state title game. My point? When the Redhawks are considered “down” in big name talent they seem to play motivated quality basketball. They don’t have the star power this year after graduation and transfers, but they have good players and they are still the favorite in 4AA. St. Paul Academy is a veteran team that would be considered the top contender to Minnehaha with St. Agnes just behind them. And Josh Balami, I somehow thought he had graduated so I didn’t include him in the EMAC preview. He is back and he is very, very good. One of the best players in this section.
