That can sometimes mean a lot of windshield time traveling to places further away, that many never take the time to get to, in order to make sure that no players go unnoticed. One of my favorite was to stay up-to-date on the greater Evansville area and all of southwestern Indiana is an annual trip down to the Pocket City Fall League. ND Kendrick, a long time friend, does a great job organizing this event and getting all of the top talent under one roof. The opportunity to see that many talented players in a four or five hour span makes the trip very much worth it each fall. Let’s dive on in to some of the new names that stood on Sunday at Week 2 of the annual Pocket City Basketball Fall League. If you missed it, here is are the top performers we highlighted as well.
Andrew Colvin
Andrew Colvin
I first saw this Dugger (Union) High School product at last year’s Pocket City Fall League and he was an exceptionally thin and raw prospect going into his sophomore season. Now, a year later as a junior, Colvin is still very thin but has started to develop some offensively. The 6’7″ forward has flashed some shooting ability out to three-point range and could continue to blossom into a pick-and-pop threat. As he gets stronger and adds some weight he could see his game really take a leap. A name to track over the next two seasons.
Gish had an excellent day shooting the basketball at Sunday’s Pocket City Fall League. The Pike Central High School guard is an excellent catch-and-shoot threat showcasing good footwork on the perimeter and a quick release that he used to knock in multiple shots in each game I watched at the event. As a junior, Gish averaged 15.0 points per game and shot 40% from three-point range. Look for a big senior season for him.

The McAtee twins were very impressive on Sunday at the Pocket City Fall League. Adler started one game off with a catch-and-shoot three-pointer to grab my attention and continued to score both out on the perimeter and around the basket in the two games that he played. His agility is impressive with his 6’6″ frame and the skill level has really started to blossom going into his senior season.

The McAtee twins were very impressive on Sunday at the Pocket City Fall League. Ayden had a strong junior season for Castle and appears ready to expand his game even further going into his senior season. His name should absolutely be on the list of small college coaching staffs in need of a versatile forward that can score the basketball. The 6’6″ forward finished with his right hand over his left shoulder consistently with good footwork in the post that he used to be able to tuhe corner and score around the defender. He can also step out to three-point range to stretch the floor. Intriguing offensive game.
You won’t find many more impressive freshmen than this Boonville High School product. McKain is a 6’3″ guard with elite physical tools for his age. He is very strong, athletic, and pairs that with good skill level off of the dribble. Throughout Sunday’s event he was getting into the paint and finish at the rim consistently. Look for him to step into a primary role right away this season and be one of the best Class of 2027 prospects in the greater Pocket City area.
Houston Schoonover
Houston Schoonover
One of the more productive three-point shooters at the Pocket City Fall League on Sunday was this sophomore from Wood Memorial High School. Schoonover, a 6’0″ guard, consistently was knocking it in from three-point range both from the catch and showcased his range with a couple deep ones off of the dribble as well. His ability to put pressure on the defense with his shooting ability also opens up driving lanes for him to attack closeouts. Good all-around offensive player that has a real knack for scoring the ball.
