In my past viewings of Brogan he stood out with his ability to facilitate at 6’4. He excels at getting into the paint and locating his open shooters on the perimeter for good looks. Against Bradley Tech and Milwaukee Hamilton though he was a lot more aggressive looking to score on his own as well. Brogan showcased quick change of direction at his size and was able to get downhill and attack the basket with purpose. Once near the rim he has some explosive athleticism to go up and finish against size, and even look to throw down some dunks if he has a clear path. Will look to help Waterford compete for a Southern Lakes Conference title this winter.

Max looks to be one of the best freshmen in the state this year, and he’s already producing at a high level in fall league. He helped lead WAC past Edgewood with some tough buckets, showcasing his versatile game in the process. At 6’4 he showcased some shifty handles to create separation on the perimeter, but also had no problem using his strong frame to play some bully ball and finish strong in the paint. His positional size and intriguing skill-set at this age make him a name to keep an eye on over the next few years.
Timmy West Jr

West wasn’t backing down from the competition against Whitnall and West Allis Central. He showed impressive isolation scoring ability and with that he was able to step up to the plate when his team needed a bucket. His team was trailing big against WAC at halftime, but Timmy took over to help make it a game down the stretch. He has a variety of moves he can turn to off the dribble to break his man down and get into his mid-range shot. Timmy seems to excel at pulling up and elevating from that 12-15 foot range. At a young age he also has a great understanding of how to utilize ball screens and get his defender on his hip to dictate where the play goes from there.
Myles is looking to take a big step forward as a scorer this season for Whitnall. The ball will be in his hands a lot more, and against Edgewood he was creating a lot off the dribble for himself and his teammates. Myles excels at coming off ball screens slow and controlled and then flipping a switch to explode to the rim. Once there he’s a tough finisher with his left hand, and converted on a couple of looks through contact. Herro did a nice job of extending the ball and finishing away from his body to avoid shot blocking threats. He showcased his vision both from the perimeter, as well as in drive-and-kick situations to set his teammates up.
Jakari is one of the most explosive athletes in the state, and it showed on one play as he chased down a teammates’ miss and threw it back down with a two handed put-back dunk. That side of his game was clear last year, but it looks like he’s made good improvements in his mid-range game as well. Against Waterford he had a few plays where he was able to get to his spots off the dribble and just elevate for the mid-range jumper. With the type of elevation he gets, if Jakari finds a pocket of space not many defenders are going to be able to contest him. Should be in for a strong sophomore season in the City Conference.
Yusef is an extremely versatile player at 6’4. He’s a three-level scoring threat, can run the point, rebounds well, and can defend most spots on the floor at the high school level. Against Edgewood he impressed with his ability to create not only off the dribble, but also with his footwork. Had an impressive play catching and facing up on the baseline, and then getting his defender off their feet with a variety of shot fakes and post moves. He has a sense of composure to his game, and even at a young age never really looks sped up or uncomfortable on the ball.

Kymoni Hunt
Kymoni Hunt
Kymoni looks to be one of the top players in the City Conference heading into his senior season, and continues to impress on both ends of the floor. He’s a super scrappy defender who put pressure on the ball all game long. After Waterford got out to a big lead, Hunt was able to force some errors with his defensive intensity that allowed Hamilton to claw their way back into the game. Offensively he’s a threat from beyond the arc, while also having the speed to blow by defenders and get to the rim. Absolutely fearless going up to finish against bigger defenders.
