The upcoming hoops season is coming with the first week of October half over. The freshmen class has the potential to make an impact this season, especially in South Jersey. Here are the 2027 South Jersey prospects to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202016' first='Bryce' last='Clark'], 5'4 PG Camden Catholic

Clark may be one of the shorter prospects in the class, but that won't stop him from making an impact at the next level. The 5'4 guard has a lightning quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finish at the rim. Clark uses his tight handle to create separation from his defender and can thread passes to teammates in the halfcourt. He pushes the pace well in transition and uses his quick hands to get deflections on defense. Clark is a speedy, floor general who should make plays with the ball in his hands throughout the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2206834' first='Caleb' last='Lundy'], 6'0 CG Lenape

Lundy has the potential to make an impact in his debut season with his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands. The 6'0 guard has a good handle, which he uses to get to the rim and finish. Lundy is more than just a slasher as he can also knock down jumpers in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He has the ability to play off the ball as well and slides his feet on the defensive end. Lundy will have the ball in his hands at times during his first varsity season, which should help his development in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202015' first='Azyris' last='Richmond'], 6'7 PF Camden Catholic

Richmond is one of the more intriguing prospects in South Jersey with his combination of size and skill. The 6'7 forward finishes nicely around the basket and is able to draw contact in the paint. Richmond has a solid face-up game as he can put the ball on the floor and has a high release on his jumper. He rips down rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Richmond is a talented forward prospect who will be one to watch in South Jersey this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1962882' first='Mekhi' last='Robertson'], 6'3 CG Life Center Academy

Robertson joins a talented Life Center squad, but that should not stop him from making an impact in his first season. The 6'3 guard attacks the basket strong as he can finish in a number of ways around the basket and is unafraid of contact. Robertson uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and shoots the ball with confidence from distance. He can also play off the ball and uses his length to make an impact on defense. Robertson has already picked up a pair of D1 offers and his offer sheet should grow with a strong 2023-24 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201942' first='Amare' last='Walker'], 5'11 PG Donovan Catholic

Walker will have the ball in his hands, making him a prospect to watch in the Shore Conference. The 5'11 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to get to the rim and can finish in a variety of ways. Walker doesn't get rattled by on-ball pressure and has a good release on his jumper. He involves his teammates in the halfcourt and is an underrated defender. Walker's ability to run the offense is something that will help his stock in a big way this winter.
