Top 250 EXPO: 1st Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sunday September 3rd I attended the Arizona <strong>TOP 250 EXPO </strong>at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I watched every team play once and this is how they performed when they were on the main court. We start breaking down the All-EXPO teams one by one. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here is the 1st Team breakdown:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1278778' first='William' last='Dixion'] CDO</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A strong and athletic combo guard had a good showing. He is best downhill to score in traffic with tough layups or reverses and can throw it down on the break. He can hit the catch three and pull-up from mid-range.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1676630' first='Kristo' last='Jackson'] San Tan Charter</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A sophomore combo guard was the lone non upper classman who made the first team. He can catch and shoot from the three point line and easily gets downhill in traffic with his thicker body. He showed off his bunnies on the break. He can step back off the dribble from mid-range and find teammates.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1036000' first='Khalon' last='Johnson'] Eduprize</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An athletic combo guard makes it look easy. He is a physical on-ball defender and will rip some pockets and dunk it on the break. He can pull-up from mid-range and has great body control. He has a tough spin move in traffic and plays with big energy.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1150852' first='Denali' last='McNeal'] Canyon View (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The junior guard always plays at his own pace. He can dime his teammates with good court vision up the court and can score. He is starting to get more athletic. He can pull-up from mid to the three and get downhill and finger roll it in.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1542272' first='Michael' last='Payne'] Cholla</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring point guard is a straight bucket. He is fast and quick on quick with a tight handle. He can score from all levels and is hard to stay in front of. He can pull-up from mid-range plus step back and hit threes with range.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1297427' first='AJ' last='Thomas'] Eduprize</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top performers on the day was AJ. He got to any spot he wanted with his size, strength, yo-yo handle and burst. He gets to the basket with ease with euro moves, in traffic drives and he will dunk it. He can pull-up from mid-range and shoot the three off the dribble. His timing on his passes are precise and the PG will have a big year at Eduprize.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1674458' first='Travis' last='Vasquez'] Deer Valley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A true combo guard can score and make plays. He has that next level court vision and is a three level scorer. He can pull-up with high elevation from mid-range or step back off of his defender. He can hit the three and is way more athletic then you realize.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1306046' first='Alexander' last='Werner'] Premier Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An all-around wing forward was a menace to defend. He has a good handle to get into the paint and repeatedly will score thru contact. He has a good euro move to utilize and gets on the glass with his elite motor and will block shots out of his area.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
