Cady has already announced he plans on taking a post grad year and reclass into the 2025 class, we’re focused on four-year high school prospects so he’ll remain in 2024 for our rankings. The reason he’s helped his stock so much recently is finding consistency in his performances. A big-time athlete and shooter, Cady can stretch the defense and get above the rim in transition. With the post grad year, Cady will likely focus on developing physically and improving as a defender. With his length and explosiveness, Cady has the physical tools to make a jump on that end of the court. Marion Harding sometimes gets forgotten about in the central district Division I playoffs based on how far north they are, but with Cady and a solid core returning, they could make some noise in March.
Highlights
One of two GMAC commits in this article and one of two Mentor 2024 prospects committed to GMAC schools, Biddell had an impressive summer with the Cardinals and announced his commitment to Walsh. The lefty wing is a talented scorer who has improved as an athlete, which has helped him more easily create space with the ball in his hands. Able to stretch the defense out to 3-point range off the catch, Biddell also has the strength to attack downhill going to his preferred left side. Look for Mentor to be one of the top teams in northeast Ohio with Biddell playing a key role for the Cardinals this winter.

The second GMAC commit in this article, Morgan was a standout on the Prep Hoops Circuit with Midwest Basketball Club Cleveland. Morgan can really shoot it from the outside and fits perfectly in the Brunswick system that relies on space and shooters. Morgan is also the third Brunswick prospect to commit to Hillsdale recently as they keep recruiting that pipeline. Look for Morgan to have a big senior year for the Blue Devils as they could make a district title push this winter.
It was a strong summer for a few Westerville Central prospects and I think they are a sleeper in central Ohio this upcoming season. Brown might be the prospect ready to take the biggest leap as he’s a late blooming wing who had some big games in June. A long athlete, Brown was making plays defensively and around the rim with his size and length. Able to create with the ball in his hands, Brown can hit mid-range pull ups or attack closeouts from the wing. A guy who will play his best basketball later, I think Brown is a great option for college programs willing to be patient and develop him. I expect his recruitment to take shape this winter.
Shelby has been a small town school that’s been putting out talented prospects pretty much every year since I began scouting with Prep Hoops in the class of 2021. One of those Shelby prospects was Casey’s older brother Cody but with the younger Lantz and Wright State commit Alex Bruskotter Alex Bruskotter 6’7″ | PF Shelby | 2024 State #316 Nation OH , the Whippets should have one of their best teams next season. Lantz is a long wing who can hit shots and has steadily improved since I first scouted him a couple years ago. With the explosiveness to throw it down in transition, Lantz will have a very intriguing highlight tape by the end of his senior season. Expect small college programs to make him a priority this winter.
