A tier above athletically on the wing from the Eastlake North defense, Biddell got where he wanted all game long off the bounce with his burst and first step. Knocking down in rhythm shots on the outside, Biddell hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key, a trail 3 and two from the wing in the first half alone. As a slasher, Biddell had an and-1 layup, a righty transition layup and a two foot finish with his left in the first half. With 25 first half points and Mentor cruising, Biddell took most of the second half off as the Cardinals rested up for a game against Uniontown Green which they won to advance to the district finals.

One of two GMAC commits in this article and one of two Mentor 2024 prospects committed to GMAC schools, Biddell had an impressive summer with the Cardinals and announced his commitment to Walsh. The lefty wing is a talented scorer who has improved as an athlete, which has helped him more easily create space with the ball in his hands. Able to stretch the defense out to 3-point range off the catch, Biddell also has the strength to attack downhill going to his preferred left side. Look for Mentor to be one of the top teams in northeast Ohio with Biddell playing a key role for the Cardinals this winter.

A name that’s been hot on college coaches mind, Biddell has recently been offered by two GMAC programs in the recent weeks. Grown a couple inches since the last time I watched him and improved athletically, Biddell has clearly taken a step in his game. The lefty shot it with confidence and had some tough finishes at the basket. As a team, Mentor played up and down basketball with full court pressure and quick ball movement. I also caught a couple new names on the Cardinals including wing shooter Ryan Calo Ryan Calo 6'4" | SG Lutheran West | 2025 State OH and forward Conner O’Brien Conner O’Brien 6'5" | PF Mentor | 2024 State OH . Should be a fun season to follow for Cardinal fans.

Mentor has had an up and down season, but the Cardinals can flat out score the basketball and Biddell is one of their most talented guards. Biddell plays with good pace and can shoot it at a high level off the bounce. I think Mentor has a chance to make a deep playoff run once again with the Ioppolo twins, Biddell and some other impressive role pieces.

Biddell is a prospect who caught my eye at Midwest Live for a Mentor squad that was playing at a very high level. The lefty was productive in both games that I saw, scoring the ball efficiently and knowing how to attack from the wing guard position. Mentor has a lot of shooting and a decent amount of size heading into next season and will play exactly how legendary coach Bob Krizancic will want to play. Watch out for the Cardinals to make another deep playoff run in northeast Ohio.
